What I'm Listening to This Week~

I'm on MC today, whee~ Throat infection started camping in my eye all because I read the instructions wrongly and took 2 antibiotic capsules per day instead of the 4 capsules per day that I was supposed to do.. *stupid*

Just a random post to share 3 songs that I've been addicted to recently that I cant seem to find on videokeman.. so cant update the flavour of the week :(

1) Jewel - What You Are

First heard it when I was watching the 2010 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show and fell in love with the lyrics~ So nicely written, it kind of makes me want to cry... ;P

"I’m driving around town
Kinda bored with the windows rolled down
See a girl on the bus stop bench
Dressed to draw attention

Hoping everyone will stare
If she don’t stand out she thinks she’ll disappear
Wish I could hold her, tell her, show her
What she wants is already there

A star is a star
It doesn’t have to try to shine
Water will fall
A bird just knows how to fly

You don’t have to tell a flower how to bloom
Or light how to fill up a room
You already are what you are
And what you are is beautiful

Heard a story the other day
Took place at the local VA
A father talking to his dying son
This was his conversation

“It’s not supposed to be like this
You can’t go first I can’t handle it”
The boy said “Dad now don’t you cry,
Remember when I was a child what you used to tell me when I’d ask why?”

(You’d say) Gravity is gravity
It doesn’t try to pull you down
Stone is stone
It can’t help but hold its ground

The wind just blows, though you can’t see
It’s everywhere like I’ll always be
You already are what you are
And what you are is strong enough"

Here's a clean version of the song.. Enjoy~

2) Emily Browning - Asleep

Omg, im so in love with Emily Browning after watching Sucker Punch, she is just gorgeous as Babydoll in the movie... and the way she sings this song, eventhough it doesnt really need super strong vocals but its just like a lullaby that helps you relax before going to bed, if you get what I mean.. The lyrics are a little depressing tho, but its just to suit the scene in the movie when this song is played.. Jump straight to 0.33 for the song to start properly cos the song's opening sounds a bit like white noise..

This song is actually a cover of The Smith's song called Asleep which is just creepy in my opinion, but this is my favourite bit, super depressing...

"Sing me to sleep
Sing me to sleep
And then leave me alone
Don't try to wake me in the morning
'Cause I will be gone
Don't feel bad for me
I want you to know
Deep in the cell of my heart
I will feel so glad to go"

3) White Apple Tree - Snowflakes

Can't find any music video for this interesting song.. the reason I like it is because the music arrangement gives me the feeling of waking up in the morning and feeling great about it.. Its been hiding in my playlist for ages and I only recently noticed it.. @.@~and its been one of the songs I'm always repeating ever since, lol...

Quite a few songs that I've been listening to over and over recently, but these 3 are the more interesting ones, i guess... cant even find music videos of them :( which is why i'd like to share it with everyone!!!! :D

Recent addictions~

Anyone seen this anywhere before?? Apparently Jaya Jusco and Carrefour havent started stocking it yet (yeah, i checked both places).. and right now the only place that i know sells it is the 99 Speedmart down the road from my place @.@~

Introducing the latest product from Mamee-Double Decker Sdn Bhd-- Mister Potato Rice Crisps~~~ Mmmm... Between my roommate and me, we've already tried all 4 flavours.. muahahaha.. and my favourite is still sour cream and onion.. I am not a junk food person, but this is great~ the seasoning is just right, not too salty nor overpowering, and zero trans fat.. hehehe.. i personally prefer this Mister Potato potato crisps anytime :)

wanted to restock my sour cream &onion after finishing my first tube, but already sold out, grr.. too many students snacking while revising near here, sobs..

The 4 Flavours available: Original (too ordinary for me), Hot & Spicy (Havent tried), Sour Cream & Onion (Yums!) and Flame Grilled BBQ (not bad lah)

I think RM3.50 is the promo price for the extra tall tube.. The potato crisps are already quite pricey.. Which is why i seldom spend on snacks when i can get other healthier stuff for the $... wont be buying any more if the price goes up... So maybe just one more tube of sour cream & onion rice crisps?

Fell in love with a song yesterday... and a voice.. Andrew Tan-Astro Talentquest Runner Up and TVB8 Global Talentquest Winner~~ :):) Support buatan Malaysia!!!

(I think i'm a bit like the person described.. bad bad bad... will try to appreciate the ppl ard me nore from now on ^^)

Crazy over Breanne Duren~

I have fallen in love with this girl's voice, and i'm sure many a guy will also fall in love with her face :D Who is Breanne Duren?? I wouldn't have known if i didnt do some research on my flavour of the week song. She's actually part of Owl City, the group that has suddenly popped up and become popular all of a sudden.. i heard their songs playing in The Gardens this afternoon~~

Found this other nice song that she's featured in on Youtube~ The group is called Swimming With Dolphins (cute eh?) and the song's called Silhouettes:-

Can't get this outta my head..

"Time together is just never quite enough~
What would it take to make or break this hint of love?
When we're apart whatever are you thinking of?
So tell me darling do you wish we'd fall in love?
All the time~~~"

CNY in Penang-Day 2

Spent the whole day walking around Gurney Plaza after being dumped by my cousin who had to go to work.. Waited for the mall's doors to open at 10am and only left at ard 6pm @.@~ Luckily we found some stuff to do to while away the time, besides shopping, obviously... Had lunch at A&W, waffles and coney dogs and root beer and onion rings.. yums... I watched Tiger Woohoo for the second time... hehehe.. movie tickets only RM7 in Penang!

Also had another new experience... Foot Reflexology~~~! Depending on your opinion, this could be a very torturous or enjoyable experience... Pain should be expected, but you will feel very relaxed and destressed afterwards :) Im so happy that my foot didnt hurt at all so there shouldn't be anything wrong with me, right? but my calves and knees hurt real badly.. according to the masseuse, i've either been sitting or standing too much, no prizes for guessing which eh~

Love ginger tea!

massage chair that kneads your back like dough @.@~

We were the only 2 customers there and after making lots of ruckus and comparing pain endurance levels excitedly, we only noticed the sign as we were leaving.. malu lah...

We chose the 45 minute foot massage for RM40 at first but changed to the foot+neck+head massage for RM60 later cos we were so reluctant to leave.. haha...

Had dinner at Batu Ferringhi, cos we wanted to spy on my brother (mission failed cos couldnt find him.. Boo) and ended up at The Ship, which is this famous western restaurant with branches all over KL and is famous for being pricey.. My verdict? Not that nice lor considering the prices :(

i think its a real ship lor

make so much money oso dont wan to fix the lights

Best steak in town not good enough for me~ :P

Nautical themed interior with romantic lighting...

everyone had a complimentary butter roll :)

whats this for? whats this for??

Escargoes in garlic butter sauce.. yummy!

My chicken Maryland.. realised i really prefer eastern food now, western food just too dry for me lor...

Mum's seafood platter.. she said the prawns were not fresh... :(

My cousin + fruit punch (that was too sweet)

So if you've bothered reading the whole post, i hope you wont be put off by this restaurant just cause of me.. maybe its my problem, but the taste really doesnt justify the price.. the best dish was the escargots.. even my cousin's son, who is 11 years old complianed abt the garlic steak.. hahahhaha...

Went to the Batu Ferringhi night market later, and it was hot and crowded, but lots of interesting stuff to see.. I even tried something called fried ice, which is quite amazing.. :)

Bubbles~~~ :):)

Going to end abruptly cos im going out soon.. Flavour of the week is Owlcity's Saltwater Room.. Love this song!!!! :):)

One year older.. again... :)

22.. nice figure eh??

First time having to work on my birthday.. Once upon a time, my birthday was always a holiday cos of the year-end school holidays, only 2 or 3 yrs during college tat I had to go to class on my big day.. this year have to work pula, boohoo.. if only my office was situated in Selangor, then it'd be a public holiday >.<

*Birthdays=lots of eating?!

My manager had promised to treat me to lunch earlier and we ended up going to Room Eighteen (拾八风味) for HK style food, old dy, don't like Western food so much dy.. haha... We ended up gorging ourselves silly on the yummy stuff there..

Char siew noodles with dessert and drink only RM12.80 :) yums... love the roasted pork there.. not too fat not too thin, not too hard not too soft.. perfect!

小笼包 :P

egg tarts~ crispy pastry plus soft filling.. d(-.-)b two thumbs up~

At this point I was quite full already but my manager still insisted on ordering the layer cake, luckily it was unavailable or i think my tummy would have burst.. haha.. I really recommend Room Eighteen cos the food is tasty, reasonably priced, and most importantly, all the food was served in record time.. So all in all it was a very enjoyable meal :) In fact I even went back ith my mum on Saturday to try out other dishes.. heehee..

Next round was cake... cos she failed to get me cake during lunch, my manager insisted that she get me a real birthday cake instead.. @.@~ all my arguments against the idea were futile and we ended up getting a cake from Bread story.. So touched... sobsob.. Have to start thinking what gift should i get her in return for her birthday??!

Can i say i'm 4 yrs old??? :P

With Chai hing, my manager.. Coindidentally we were both wearing purple that day.. felt like having a date during lunch, cos just the 2 of us @.@~

Only 4 ppl left in my group tat day.. 4 other members were on leave.. >.<

Esmei! :)

Big face herself O.o.....

and all too soon it was dinnertime.. Time to meet mummy who came up specially from JB.. thanks mummy~~ :) had dinner at one other place i've never been to before- Paddington House of Pancakes~

Mummy with her giant pancake...

Closer look.. I actually liked this one more than my own dish >.<

Mine.. mini dollar pancakes...

with 4 types of dips..

We were so full that we decided to skip the main meal and jump straight to dessert with lots of fruits, but the portions were still too big to be finished.. sigh... a bit of a waste really.. if i ever get to go again, have to remember to go with an empty stomach.. haha... but that amt of money for flour and bananas.. hmm.. worth it or not?

PS:If you think my day ended just like tat.. hah... guess again~~~ lalallalala.....
PPS: Flavour of the week is So Cold by the infamous Chris Brown.. X'Brown and cold weather fit for x'mas week.. haha... so apt.. plus i really like the song.. so..

Officially gila buku~

I am so proud of myself! I managed to walk all the way from to Amcorp Mall from where I'm staying, approximately 40 mins in total to and fro... :D and all for wat you ask~

After reading in the newspaper the number of ppl who went bright and early on the first day to grab at the books, I decided that it might be worth going to take a look.. :) and it really was worth the walk.. Eventhough it was almost ending by the time I went, there was still a steady supply of brand new books on sale (tho i suspect a lot of the bestsellers had already been grabbed cos I did see ONE book by Jeffrey Archer, which i already have which means that there should have been more previously).. for only rm8! Which is ridiculously cheap... (many ppl were buying boxes full of books O.o...)

I only got 3 tho.. on a tight budget... so 3 is considered a big haul already by my standards... :) I still cant get over how cheap they were, cos the cheapest books I have gotten so far cost me 99 pence, which is around RM6, but they were second hand, just RM2 more for brand new ones, unbelievable! I swear that I will go again next year if The Big Bad Books Sale ever comes round again :D

Judge a book by its cover??
1) Brokeback Mountain on the cover- actually contains short stories that will make interesting films, if anyone bothers to make them... @.@~

2) Patchy, naughty looking dog- a diary written from an alpha male/ inobedient dog's point of view

3) Eerie looking spindly things - Murder mystery where the crime is solved by investigating bones left at the crime scene.. This is actually part of the books that inspired the series Bones that I'm so crazy abt... :)

PS: I just finished Bad Dog's Diary, and two thumbs up~~ :) I wanna read the prequel so badly now... Time to lurk around Borders Bookstore, hehehe...

PPS: Flavour of the week is Dreamcatcher by Alexandre Desplat, track #15 of the score for New Moon~

Air Supply-Two Less Lonely People in the World...

I dunno why but im suddenly obsessed with this song..

Two Less Lonely People in the World

I was down my dreams were wearing thin
When you're lost where do you begin
My heart always seemed to drift from day to day
Looking for the love that never came my way

Then you smiled and i reached out to you
I could tell you were lonely too
One look then it all began for you and me
The moment that we touched i knew that there would be

(chorus)
two less lonely people in the world
And it's gonna be fine
Out of all the people in the world
I just can't believe you're mine
In my life where everything was wrong
Something finally went right
Now there's two less lonely people
In the world tonight

Just to think what i might have missed
Looking back how did i exist
I dreamed, still i never thought i'd come this far
But miracles come true, i know 'cause here we are

(chorus)

Tonight i fell in love with you
And all the things i never knew
Seemed to come to me somehow
Baby, love is here and now there's

(repeat chorus)

Loneliness puts funny thoughts in your head.......

Summary?? 8/11-14/11/2009

New Flavour of the week to set the mood for the event i am waiting for at the end of the month... hehehe... Alexandre Desplat- The Meadow~

A summary of the past week:

- Stayed back till 7pm for abt 3 days to help with a scrapbook for a director who is retiring in Dec.. Each group was given 5 pages and told to decorate them to be joined together into a scrapbook.. Lots of cutting and pasting and people laughing at my inability to draw straight lines >.<

-Finally got an EPF account! So great that i could legitimately skive off during work to go to the kwsp branch in PJ, driver included as well :)

-Met up with the Gang!!! Woohoo.. we should all make an effort to meet up more often.. I am super free during weekends I must add... :P

-Went to a Robinson's Members' Day for the first time.. The queue reached the Coach outlet at The Gardens O.o.. Lots of kiasu uncles there as well, and all for wat?! A goodie bad wit a mug, a pen anda notepad.. hahaha.. Guess who i went with?! The director and senior manager of my group no less.. So funny...

-Finally have a decision abt my CIMB-MAICSA direct access platinum card.. Be patient, I am coming to get you! Teehee~

-Oh, and I missed my own Advanced Diploma convocation.. Planned to go look-see, look-see at first, but in the end decided it would be a little too weird to watch my classmates in their caps and gowns as a spectator... Will go for my degree and external paper ones, enough for me lah..

Next week is coming fast, got a meeting with Wendy to look forward to, an extraordinary general meeting to attend and a masquerade staff prty/ annual dinner (that i forsee will be torturous for me) to go to... Wish me luck~~

Spent the day at The Curve and E-curve, haha.. Watched Surrogates.. Not a big fan of the movie, nor Bruce Willis either~~ Not a must-watch movie (my opinion)

Caught in the act at Redbox.. >.<

The reason the pics are so small is tat they were taken with a handycam.. so if theres a handycam, there will be ridiculous clips of us murdering songs.. Too embarrassing to be posted.. haha..

Good to be back~~ :)
Can't wait for more gatherings and reunions with my dearly missed friends!

PS: Flavour of the week is Don't let me down by Leona Lewis feat Justin Timberlake.. two thumbs up!!!!!

Fork in the road,
Looking both ways, I,
Don't know which way to go.
What do I count on?
Is it the road less traveled?
Or the one I already know?

And no I'm not traveling alone.
I got my heart in my hand, And,
You can bet I'm holding it close.

Don't wanna climb,
Don't wanna fall,
Don't know where to start it all.
I can start by taking it slow.

First I need a, hero,
I got a, mirror,
Looking inside of my soul.
If I need a, hero,
I got my, mirror,
Gotta go on with the show.

I got my ear to the ground;
That's the sound of my train comin' 'round.
This is a chance for us to be heard loud.
It's you and me,
And it's our time now.
Don't let me down.

(Justin Timberlake:)
Don't let me down,
Don't let me down now,
Don't let me down,
Don't let me down now.

(Leona Lewis:)
People!
This is what you're living your life for.
Fighter,
That's your name (JT: That's your name)

Trying to hide but it's obvious you're a survivor.
Believer,
Don't let the travel in the road -
That look in your eyes,
Puts fire in the heart of the cold (world).
Got a marathon to try again,
I'm not even tryin' to win.
I'm just glad I'm not alone.

First I need a, hero,
I got a, mirror,
Looking inside of my soul.
If I need a, hero,
I get my, mirror,
Gotta go on with the show.

I got my ear to the ground;
That's the sound of my train comin' 'round.
This is a chance for us to be heard loud.
It's you and me,
And it's our time now.
Don't let me down.

(Leona Lewis:)
Don't you let me down,
Promise you won't let me down.
Don't you let me down,
Promise you won't let me down.

You've been running so alone.
I see you (I see you).
You told me we could change the world.
And I believe it's true.

There's nothing now to hold us down.
I found,
My pains,
And the sound of your heart led the way.

I got my ear to the ground;
That's the sound of my train comin' 'round. (comin' round)
This is a chance for us to be heard loud.
It's you and me,
And it's our time now.
Don't let me down!

Don't you let me down, (Don't let me down)
Promise you won't let me down, (JT: Don't let me down now)
Don't let me down,(JT: Don't let me down now)
Promise you won't let me down, (JT: Don't let me down now)

(Justin Timberlake:)
Don't let me down,
Don't let me down now,
Don't let me down,
Don't let me down now.

Inevitable Journey...

Should have changed my flavour of the week to 'Time to Say Goodbye', but Toni Braxton's Yesterday will do for now.. :S The last day of my 14 day Europe trip was actually spent travelling from Paris, France to Manchester Airport to catch my flight at 2.15pm the next day.. which turned out to be quite a miserable day, but i still had it better than some other people i know..

Spent more than 12 hours on the bus that day.. and the ferry ride from Calais to Dover was horrible.. First time ever i felt seasick.. Luckily i still managed to keep my lunch in my stomach tho.. :) then had to change to another bus when we arrived at London.. The bus with the passengers from hell.. Really pity my friend who was feeling unwell that day cos they were making so much noise that we were unable to get to sleep, and they even made fun of her when she asked them for something to eat when she had gastric.. Some people... >.<

Inside Manchester Airport where we spent the night either curling up like prawns to sleep cos it was so cold, or trying to keep awake to look after our luggage.. we 3 girls took turns to go to sleep, but everyone still ended up not sleeping much cos it was so effing cold.. I really thought an airport would have central heating.. considering how many people are there at night.. grr... Luckily the 14 hours we spent there passed by in a flash..

spot my flight: Emirates flight EK018~

I was feeling quite hungry already by the time we boarded, but too bad.. they didn't stuff us up this time compared to the flight to UK.. maybe you don't have to eat so much when going to a hotter country cos you dont need extra food to withstand the cold.. hahaha...

one tiny snack, not enough to ease my hunger >.<

Lunch a few hours later.. I chose chicken in coconut and pineapple sauce with spinach and rice.. of course the description in the menu is much more appetising than that lah.. @.@~ it is most irritating eating a meal on the plane, cos there is just so many things on such a tiny tray.. have to keep shifting things around to eat properly... hahaha...

Transit in Dubai at midnight.. 33 degrees celsius at midnight.. damn killing!! super cold then super hot, what a miserable day.. :(

3.15am flight to Kuala Lumpur.. saying bye bye to the bright lights of Dubai...

Another snack.. Chicken Tikka wrap and juice~~

They turned off the lights and i realised that the ceiling looked like there was stars on it.. nice~ :)

All too soon, it was breakfast time.. I sure slept a lot more this time compared to my flight to UK.. maybe after a whole day on a cramped coach and a night on an airport seat, the aeroplane seat was super comfortable to me.. I was still so sleepy during breakfast that i had a hard time swallowing my omelette, didnt even eat the bread and dried mango and crackers.. >.<

Happy that i finally finally got a window seat!!! :)

Thats my first glimpse of tanah tumpahnya darahku...

The wing looks like something from Transformers when landing :D

and im home.. after waiting ages to clear customes and find my luggage.. the luggage system at KLIA is exasperating!!! I waited more than one hour for my precious crocodile to come out... grr... really quite disappointing service at KLIA...

after that had another long drive back to JB, even though i wasnt the one doing the driving.. still had to make sure the driver didnt fall asleep.. endured a jam at Nilai and the car throwing a tantrum where the temperature kept rising and couldnt come back down.. Sigh...

Luckily i'm finally back home.. Gave everyone their souvenirs at last.. and finally get to taste some home cooked scrumptious food~~ :):):)

Pasta from Italy with salmon and prawns, yummy :):)
I love mummy!!!

Plus i got to enjoy my own souvenir as well, hehehe...

Will get some much needed rest before beginning my job hunt~ Good luck to me~ updates soon... :)
