Form-filling fillers..

I was just filling in an application form for some programme that will be joining, and i was just wondering... How can we juice up our applications and resumes, etc??

Let me just share some ridiculous ideas that i have...

I once read in 'Confessions of a Shopaholic' by Sophie Kinsella, where the protagonist put in that she could speak fluent Finnish (language used in Finland) cos according to her "who the hell speaks Finnish anyway?!" and she was found out when she went for an interview for a job with the Bank of Helsinki an the interviewer proceeded to speak to her in Finnish. Well, i do know uno, dos, tres, so can i put that i know Spanish? Or French, since i know merci and au revoir?? How cool would that be??! I could go on forever.. the possibilities are endless arent they...

As for interests, suppose i know how to play twinkle, twinkle little star on the piano, then can i list piano-playing as my interest?? Ah, thats a good idea ain't it?? :D some other interests that i could probably list are baking, writing, horticulture anyone?? :D Actually, sometimes i wonder if i could put anything.. Since the people who look through the applications wont possibly come to yr house and ask what fertilizer you use or see what brand of oven you are using, will they?? Any human resource people here??

i also hate it when they ask your reasons for applying! If its a job application, its simple right?? Cos i need the salary lah, what else?! but you cant possibly write that down, can you... So you go on and on about future prospects and company culture and common goals, blah blah blah... why ask me some question that you already know the answer to right? whats the point? Sigh... Sometimes, i look up to people who can act fake all the time, cause sometimes, faking it is the key to higher positions and better relationships with superiors, yeah, the world is a materialistic place.. Be too honest and frank and you may find yourself being crowned the most hated person in the world! haha...

That said.. I actually really really wish that getting jobs and joining programmes could be a simple and unnerving process... Sigh~ Time to be serious and get that application form filled up properly now...

Well, here goes..

The Life Story of a Plastic Bag

This is a story about Citrus, the orange coloured plastic bag, so named because of its acidic colour.. Citrus is the son of mama red and papa yellow (ok well, actually Citrus was part of a mass-produced family from a plastics factory, but he likes to feel individualistic..)

Anyway, Citrus was sent to the grocer's not long after his arrival on this earth and he went home with a nice lady who bought some packets of flour for a baking session ( "thank god i'm not holding some bloody fish or raw meat" he thought....) This nice lady believed in reusing her bags and thus Citrus was put in the trash can and he was filled with rubbish before being collected by the rubbish collectors and brought to the landfill where he spent his remaining days. End of story.. hahahha, got you! :D

I'm not finished yet, not quite...

This is Citrus' very very distant relative, who actually descended from a cheapskate race called the Chinaman plastic bag.. (You know, the type that is super thick and durable, with red, blue and white checks that is very inexpensive??!) but what was incredible was that this lucky thing, she struck lottery and suddenly became nouveaux riche and is now emblazoned all over with the LV logo :D (refer here and here..)

This is one of Citrus' many cousins.. He's a thick-skinned guy, and he proudly proclaims his superior lineage wherever he goes so that people do not mistake him for any other object. Citrus envies him a lot as he is the poster-boy for narcissism and is proud to be himself!

Haha, and who do we have here?? This is old grandaunt Anya who has an incredible plastic surgeon.. She has been boycotted by the other family members as (obviously) she is ashamed to be associated with them, the snob.. In her opinion, she was the one who left the clan first in the first place.. "what future is there in being a normal, flimsy little plastic bag, hmph.."

Ok, ok.. I'm going a bit crazy here, and i dunno where the hell the inspiration for my story came about.. But the objective is to say that i don't want to end up having to use a plastic bag to carry my things around.. and believe me, i do have a lot of things to bring when i go out :D So,

-Revelations-

I heard some things about some people that i know today..
May i add that the things i heard were not exactly kind to the ears... kind of made my jaw drop to the floor too when i first heard the story O.o

Its hard to believe that people who act like little lambs on the outside can be so mean and cunning behind people's backs.. I dont want to mention names, but from what i know of these people, its kind of incredible to imagine that they can do the things they've done.. Luckily, i'm not the victim of their back-stabbing, but i do know the people who were hurt by their poison darts..

Well, well, just goes to show that there are all kinds of people in this world and we have got to beware who we want to befriend.. Anyway, i wouldnt call back-stabbing and spreading falsehoods, while acting innocent around the people you've hurt is considered friendly behavior..

Ooo... sends shivers down my spine that i know people like that.. Brrr...

Some friendly words of advice?? Dont put too much trust in the people around you, you never know whether they have hidden agendas.. Well, you can never be too sure right?

I'm so freakin happy today that i don't think anything can spoil my mood, heh... Cant believe i was so stressed out yesterday... What a huge about-turn~ :D

I am so happy! I know, i know, i'm repeating myself...
My group went first for this rounds presentation..
Which means i've got it over and done with..
Which also means i dont have to be doing presentations on my birthday!!! Whee~

and congrats to Ms A too cos if we didnt get to go this week, it wld've been either my b'day or hers... Well, i kind of got a little cold when i drew the number one lot, but what the heck, better sooner than later lah.. :D

and mummy's coming to KL next week, cant wait to bring her shopping!!! ;D

and, and, i had a Magnolia Supremo cone during lunch.. Chocolate + Ice-cream just makes a girl's mood great!

Well, eventho it was raining damn heavily when my class ended and i got drenched in the rain, but i'm still happy~ and you know why?? Cos i made the right decision this morning by wearing my old, beaten-up pair of heels instead of my nicer pairs :D and my classmate said i'm great at walking in 3 inch heels~ hahahhaha... i was born with that skill babe! ;D

HAPPY!!!!

on the other hand, i have a corporate governance draft to hand in tomorrow, sigh~

When i was walking out on the way to dinner last night, i looked up at the sky and lo and behold~ someone was looking right back at me! Nope, this is not a scary story, dont worry.. :D

Its actually the moon and 2 stars, which i later found out were venus and jupiter.. heh..
"Smiley in the night sky".. Feel so lucky to have seen it!! Seems it only happens once every 5 years.. haha.. now you believe me lah, sceptical mum and roommate~ hah!

Before all the hoohah abt it in the news today, the bf and i were wondering who 'it' was smiling at, and thus resulting in the following conversation:
Me: whys it so happy??
Him: Must be laughing at all the stupid ppl in this world.. Like me..
Me: =.=

For yr info, he did some stupid things this week that made him have to do double work and stressed him out while everyone else was relaxing (a bit)~

Anyway, the whole road was filled wif ppl taking photos and coming out just to look at it..
So we jus joined the crowd lah, hence this pic..
