Coach Adventure..

1 August 2010

This post is labelled under damn random simply cos i cant fathom how a 10cm by 5cm ad in a magazine can get us to wake up early on a sunday and rush all the way into town by 10am.. Anyways, if you dont know what im gabbling abt, the August issue of Cleo had an ad that enabled the first 100 readers to flash that tiny ad to redeem a limited Poppy-chan doll from Coach.. and being addicted to collecting freebies lately, i happily went along with Lilian and Vivian to Pavillion when they 'ajak-ed' me.. @.@~

To get there, we had to take a bus, then switch to the monorail system.. Amazingly, when we wanted to enter the KL Sentral monorail station, we found that they were giving out free tickets.. I stupidly asked the guy what promotion there was and he jokingly replied that it was his birthday.. Should have known there was something fishy going on.. turns out that there was something wrong with the system that day and we had to stop for ages at each station, and a normally few minute long journey turned out to be almost an hour long..

In the end, we were so anxious to get there early that we decided to get down earlier and walk from times square to pavillion :S upon arriving at the Coach outlet on the third floor, we saw a couple of ppl outside the shop with quite a few paper bags dangling from their arms, turns out that we were still early tho, cos we got doll no. 48-50 respectively.. after some observation, we realised that some ppl (ok, most ppl) were redeeming more than one doll so we decided to try our luck and ended up with a total of 5 dolls.. the whole collection has a total of 5 designs..

No need to buy oso can get Coach paperbag, LoL..

Our haul.. for ages 14+.. muahahaha.. grown up toys~

We had lunch at the Pavillion Ying Ker Lou branch which had horrible horrible service compared to the one in The Gardens that i had gone to previously... The waitress had a super sour face and literally snatched the menu from Lilian's hands when we said we'd skip the drinks cos we had planned to have dessert later.. Grr.. not going there ever again!

Had our dessert at a more satisfying place -- Snowflake!! I've wanted to try this ever since i saw ppl posting photos on facebook, cos it just looks so appetizing :)

Dunno why but i quite like the stall's design~

After you order, you get this interesting object called the 'beeping UFO' which informs you when you can go collect yr orders from the counter.. so cute lah...

cant see from the pic, but it vibrates as it flashes..

Mine: Taroball series with barley, sweet potato and taro balls.. obviously.. i actually regretted choosing this cos the ice was rougher than the other 2 types.. but still a nice cold treat~

Vivian's soya ice series with pearls, barley and sweet potato (which was very nice and sweet by the way), , the best of the three types i think, super smooth melt in yr mouth ice that tasted like soya milk and wasnt too sweet.. YUMMY!

Lilian's Cincau series with kidney beans, black glutinous rice and pearls.. the cincau was as smooth as advertised, very good.. :)

No wonder the place is always packed.. we all wanted to go a second time right after we had finished.. in fact, i've already brought mum and lil bro there when they came to KL, hehehe... We also took lots of portrait pics of the dolls while eating~

Surprisingly, we managed to collect four out of the five characters.. but on the other hand, a little disappointed that we missed out on the blue one called Violette.. on the bright side, 4 out of 5 quite a good score lah~

Goldy

Pinky

Pepper

Cherry

They look like they're ready to go off to school or something.. hehe

Ppl walking past kept staring at the 3 crazy girls taking photos of paper bags and paper boxes and playing with plastic, made in China dolls, but i think i've gotten rather muka tembok recently, so nevermind.. hahaha...

I think i have gotten used to getting freebies.. Working at Mid Valley, we can collect at least one free sample a week.. looking forward to September.. free donuts and cupcakes from courtesy of Cleo mag and oso my RM250 Bausch and Lomb hamper which i won from the July issue.. whee~~ :D

十八般武艺 showcase

22 August 2010

Last weekend, I did something that, come to think of it, is even less constructive than lazing around at home.. hahahha.. Something tat i wouldnt have imagined myself doing if not for a sudden bout of craziness -- Stargazing! The type where you go and queue for hours on end just to catch a glimpse of some star.. hehhehe.. i think the last time i did tat was during JJ Lin's fourth album tour (its his 7th album now, i think) during my diploma days.. @.@~

The idol of countless ppl i know.. After watching Love in Disguise, i was kind of mesmerised by his handsomeness on screen.. thus the sudden idea to go to his showcase at 1Utama Central Park Avenue with Adelynne (her purpose was to go see her 'lover') and her youngest aunt, eventhough we're obviously a little old for such stuff, muahahha O.o...

The yet to be decorated stage..

Since 1U is so huge, we decided to go search for the venue before having lunch.. imagine, the showcase was at 6pm but we were there before lunch, cos we were afraid that we wouldnt be able to get a parking space if we went later.. :S

Special entrances for media representatives and homaniacs???
hahhaha.. thats Leehom's fans club~

Had lunch at Dragon-i, and you can guess by the expression on her face how the service was, grr.. another place im banning cos of the lousy service.. Where can you find a head waiter who suddenly turns round to chit chat with another waiter while we're ordering, and while we were halfway through the name of a dish some more! wth~

After lunch and walking ard inspecting luggage bags for Adelynne's Korea trip, we headed over to Central Park Avenue to check out the queue, that was 4pm.. See her helpless face when we forced her to join the CD buying queue.. muahahahha...

the crew frantically unpacking and selling CDs at a steep price of RM50 each *gasp*

and little wonder they were so frantic, the crowd gathered round the counter was quite big

the queue to enter the showcase area stretching alll the way to the back and winding round again to the front... 4pm @.@~

The Homaniacs...
they got better treatment compared to us 'normal people' but god knows how early they had to start sitting there..

since we were already there, we joined the queue as well..

damn hot, luckily i had my trusty umbrella~

According to Adelynne, her 'lover' likes palm trees and extreme weather.. last time he was here, the showcase was at Sunway surf beach with lot of palm trees and heavy rain.. this time oso got palm trees but it was super duper hot!

She bought 3 copies! so i could pinjam one to enter the CD zone..

gift that came with the CD, a key to Leehom's bedroom, lol.. jkjk.. obviously an unshaped key~ :)

The tiny stage~

stuck in a sea of little girls and boys.. :S

taken around 6pm, still going strong...

My FM DJ Royce was the emcee.. the guy i once bumped into in a lift at the Gardens~

I was so far away~ :(

all the media representatives invited onstage..

After the toilet break~

The superstar was late.. only came at 6.30pm and only sang half a song (we sang the rest).. Then starting to sign autographs for awhile before announcing that he needed a toilet break, then disappeared for half an hour.. :S damn off-putting lor.. personally, i felt the whole thing was rather badly organised.. aside from the toilet incident, after being squeezed around (no proper queue) and boiled alive (no ventilation) for another 2 more hours, we were told that the signing had come to an end, even when there were still quite a number of ppl who hadnt gotten their CDs signed...

Then why did the emcee bother to keep asking ppl to buy the CD to get an authograph when the promise couldnt be kept?! Luckily im not a real big fan, if not i would have been very disappointed.. Heard many little girls complaining that they had missed their movie or had an exam the next day, even one who was so traumatised that she exclaimed that she would never ever come to a showcase again..

Thankfully my previous experiences were much better, maybe cos of the different organisers.. My conclusion is tat its better to choose a lesser known idol or at least a less popular one than Leehom.. Last time when i went to see JJ Lin, we had air-con, there was a queue, everyone got their CDs signed, got to shake hands with him and he sang about 4 songs.. :) This one was not worth the hassle at all... :S

Only Adelynne managed to get on stage and she came back with this:

Her aunt joked that she would sign the remaining 2 CDs and nobody would know the difference, LoL~ Pity the poor fans who didnt get an autograph and had to be scolded by the security personnel.. I left immediately when they started yelling at the crowd.. Boo.. All in all, not a very good experience lor.. :(

PS: I blame the lousy organisers for this.. Hmph!

I've unknowingly known these guys for 4 years?!

Another day, another gathering.. This time with a bunch of folks whom i met during my diploma days, when i was still a carefree student and eagerly participating in various activities.. @.@~ How time flies, i cant believe its been 4 years already since we helped to organise the 2006 TAR College Talentime Night ("TT Night")~

Had dinner and spent half the night chatting away at Little Taiwan in Mid Valley before continuing our lepak session at Piccadilly @ Dataran Millenium..

Oooo... wats this? Liquid gold? :P

Finally got to try out the beer tower.. very worth it for only rm50 :):)

All busy taking pics of it...

Lol at the expressions here, probably in between topics..

Official photographer of the night.. who hasnt uploaded the pics she took up till now.. hmph!

Note that there were 7 of us and an empty chair at the table, which led to something very weird happening at the end of the night @.@~

Happy Clappy Group Pics:-

:D:D:D

^^V

This reminds me of a family portrait.. hahahha..

We actually sat at the table yakking away till the wee hours of the morning, and were actually still going strong until we were forced to adjourn by two crazies that happened to be around the place that night.

Crazy no.1 -
Lady talking and gesturing to herself at the next table, and who kept touching herself at inappropriate places while turning around from time to time to stare at us.. apparently, she walked right up to the counter where drinks were being prepared and just grabbed a drink off the counter @.@~ urghh.. she was real creepy and we were debating whether to leave or not when along came..

Crazy no. 2 -
An old man who came and sat down on our extra seat without us inviting him, giving us all an unpleasant surprise :S and ended up eavesdropping on our conversation.. eg. we had ordered fried calamari and were talking abt how Paul had been murdered by us, and he suddenly turned round and asked us who had died O.o.... then he lit up a cigarette right at the table and had the cheek to ask my friend whether he wanted one.. wth..

We decided right there and then to quickly pay up and leave.. ended up standing outside a 24-hour minimart enjoying the drizzle and continuing to chat.. Ppl who havent met in ages are like that wan ok.. i think we only went home ard 3am that night, which is pretty amazing for my 'old lady' standards.. hahhahaha..

Wonder when will be the next time we will all be available to meet up like this with everyone's busy schedules.. sigh~
