Scotland Trip Day 3: Inverness

"O, call back yesterday, bid time return"

A quote i found from Shakespeare.. I suddenly realised why i was so listless at work today.. i think my subconscious mind was feeling the difference between this year and last year when i never even realised what was so special abt today @.@~ I wanna go back to last year~~ Exactly the same day last year, i was freezing my ears off sitting at the edge of Loch Ness in Scotland, UK :):):)

Continuing from where i left off~

After departing from Edinburgh, we continued on our way up north~ loads more awesome scenery all along the highway and before we knew it, we were at Inverness~!

The main street of Inverness, where our lodgings, The Highlander Hostel was situated~ We arrived quite late the previous night, and if i remember correctly, Adelynne and i had dinner at McDonalds and nearly got locked out from the hostel cos we forgot the password which was needed to unlock the main door after 12am..

Got Malaysian restaurant there some more, impressive~

If you didnt know, many names of places in Scotland start with Inver-, which means mouth of the river/ confluence of water (wiki) while Loch means lake, most Inver- places have Lochs, so you probably can guess what Inverness is famous for by now eh?! :)

Nessie's hometown lah of course~!

Our first stop in the morning was the tourist centre where you can get Loch Ness Monster souvenirs and watch videos and hear stories of the legendary lake..

Nessie says hi~ :P

damn cute, they have this pond and the 'monster' just floats ard by itself waiting for you to pick an angle to take a pic with it.. lol..

Big happy flowers at the tourist centre~ :)

Love this pic~

and take 2~

After that, we got into our respective cars and went to the next pit stop, which was:-

pretty ruins of the castle, but we didnt go in cos they charged an entrance fee for a tour round the ruins..

We stopped halfway, by the side of the road to take a better look at the Loch but still not satisfied enough cos we hadnt gotten near enough to the water @.@~

breathtaking view~

The very interesting looking trees that grow in the area, exactly like those scary forests in fairytales.. hehe~

after some searching along the road, we saw this and some steps leading down to the water.. I seriously suspect that ppl in UK dont really get what a beach means @.@~

Hahahhaha.. the beach!

Seems so quiet and deserted.. you would believe that a monster did live there, since it was so quiet.. but then,

saw some crazy dudes skinny-dipping in the super ice-cold water @.@~

We were shivering just by sitting there... :S

but the rest decided to brave the water and freeze their toes off.. hehe~

we 2 scaredy cats stayed back and played by ourselves.. Feet on Loch Ness!!! :D

All rocks and dry sand but amazingly, there are flowers!~

our pro photographer took ages setting up his gear.. and we all stood ard freezing till he was ready..

but it was worth it :):):):)

more group pics before getting into the car~

with the amazing Loch Ness behind us..

Aaahhh... im super duper thankful that i got to visit such a famous place that has been immortalised in so many films, stories, etc.. Great memories~~ For more info -- http://www.visitlochness.com~ Next stop.. John o' Groats!!!
