You gotta move it, MoVe It!!

Conversation with Myee on Sat night:
Me: Aiya, so long didn't go out dy! I think i'm collecting dust.. everyday just sit and stare at my notes or the computer screen.. Dont even know what the latest things are anymore!
She: OMG, you've become a 宅女/干物女!

Oh, i felt so bad after that, am i really becoming one of those freaky nerdy ppl who never leave their house??! As an afterthought, i think i have the potential~ :( So i immediately made some plans that wld ensure me leaving my room and going out.. heh..

So i watched a movie, ate something i never had before and bought a little something for myself.. Well, someone else paid for it but i chose it k.. :D satisfied my going out itch anyway~ Whats more, the movie was FOC for me cos i had a GSC b'day voucher!!! :D Happiee~

Wld have been happier if i'd dared to use the voucher i have to get a Thomas Sabo charm bracelet at RM69 tho (original price RM149.90), but i'm frugal (or poor, whatever..)

yeah, right >.<

Top left-right: Vienna Cheese, Potato Cheese, Curry Chicken
Bottom L-R: Redbean snowflake (can skip this if you dislike coconut sprinkles), Winter Romance (its just chocolate) and Crispy Taro (my favourite of the lot!)

These made me so full that they became my dinner.. and i only had 2 mind you.. i had the third one for supper.. Personally recommend crispy taro and curry chicken, the rest were so-so for me... After trying them out, my only comment is, well.. they're pretty.. and that's abt it~ you get the drift...

The something i got as part of my b'day present from the bf.. I'm so greedy of course this alone cant satisfy me lah! ;D

Close up of the unicorn, fairy and butterfly..
(I remind him of the fairy??? -.-lll)

~The movie~

Ok, i dont really like Alex the dancing lion... but i really like King Julien (voiced by the infamous Borat guy), the lemur and the karate penguins and the overactive little lemur-Mort and marty the zebra and melman the giraffe... ok i just dont like Alex i dunno why.. i think he's not cute at all..

Overall it did get some laughs out of me.. but sometimes the plot is a leeeeetle too 'funny' too laugh at.. I really cant stand the old grandma who cant seem to die even after being mauled by a lion, hit by a truck or falling into a dam (die lah, you irritating character!) and imagine a hippo and a giraffe??! What would their offspring look like?? But that aside, madagascar 2 is good entertainment lah.. Lazy to write a synopsis.. Read it here i you're interested.. Since most ppl i know have watched it already anyway~ see, i'm so so outdated!!

Back to work~ :(

At peace??

I dont know what has come over me lately~
But i seem to be in a zen-like, peaceful kind of mood...
Still cant decide whether its good or bad..
Its weird, cos i dont seem to have views on anything..

not on the latest news on terrorism, yoga, etc etc...

not on any new shows out in the cinemas...
not on any juicy gossip about friends...

I wonder why...

Haha.. its good that i'm not feeling all heated up over things..

But it does backfire, cos i just dont feel like thinking abt anything whatsoever..
So its really tough, cos i need to think of ideas for my assignments, and points to discuss during discussions.. and a dozen more irritating matters that have to be done.. Maybe my brain's in denial..
Ya, i think thats what it is~!

I really need to get some rewiring done on my brain...

Cos lately my interests have got a span of abt 10cm wide...

Which basically means no interests lor?!~ Yelp..

Maybe i need cut back a little on the Zen... :D

Anyways, my currently pea-sized brain still likes to ogle at the beautiful things in this world... Sighhhh~

Tuesday, November 25, 2008

Haha.. here's a weird thought~

I think my *Flavour of the week* should be changed soon..
I'm still thinking which song to change it to... I really 不舍得 to change the current song, cos i'm still liking it a lot, but i wonder if ppl who come to my page often are tired of the song already?? Someone please let me know??

Anyway, i havent had the time to screen through the new songs i have yet..
So i'm not changing just yet, hehe... Heres a clip of a song i'm liking a lot right now..]
People who think watching ppl playing the piano is boring can just skip it, but ~i'm loving it~ copyright of McD of course (dont wanna get sued) :D

PS: If you're reading this and you're my brother, i think this would interest you~ :D

Trials & tribulations...

Here i am with another sob story.. :D
My journeys back home are always fraught with 'situations' that i have to find ways to get out of.. and this time was no exception..

If you're scared that the bus tickets that you want will be sold out then you buy early lah, right?? ya well.. mine were a tad too early~ 5pm bus when my class was till 4pm.. and it takes at least 45mins to get to the bus terminal from my place, not including time for emergencies such as breakdowns or heavy rains.. Sigh... the gasps i got when i told my classmates and friends about my predicament were uncountable..

Anyway, in the end i made quite a dramatic exit from class, cos i cldnt afford to stay any later since my long-winded tutor still hadnt ended the class at 4.. (I swear, the wind made the door bang so hard, it wasnt my fault! Only hope the tutor didnt think i was rude lah~) :*
Thi worst thing was, big droplets started to fall just as i left eventhogh the sun was still shining brightly, made me regret the statements i made in my prevous post like hell i tell you..

Its kind of like in the 'Book of Job'-- read abt this in 'A Walk to Remember' and i think its quite interesting-- Anyway, my heart was definitely pumping faster than usual, thinking abt worst-case scenarios and i was so relieved that i was able to reach in time.. Whoosh.. Oh man, why cant i just be able to waltz home without subjecting my blood to high pressure~~ Oh well, next time'll be better i hope...

No matter what happens that crazy spirit is still in me though.. Cos this ridiculous line just flashed past my brain when i saw this image.. an i cldnt resist noting it down due to the ridiculousity of it :D~

Dont laugh hor..
“鲜红之间一点黄,
好像有浓的暗疮。”

hahahha... i really think i'm quite ridiculous sometimes~

PS: I forgive the person who helped me buy the ticket.. count it as one of my many trials and tribulations lah..

Focused..

I am so going home today... Nothing can stop me.. na ah..
not the many assignments im supposed to complete~
not the 5pm bus ticket that gives me less than an hour after my class ends to get to the bus terminal~
not the replacement class on monday~
not the endless group discussions im supposed to have~
not the rain, sleet or snow??? O.o...
muahahhaha... I am so going home!

My artwork :D

You drive me crazy @.@~~

What the heck...
I think i'm going to go crazy soon...
What with the timetable i have..
I'm practically rushing through one assignment after another with no time to take a breather~Time for some herbal soup.. **Hint hint to mum** :)

Take today for example.. After class at 11am, it was straight on to my corporate governance discussion... and right after that, case study discussion.. and after that, have to complete my part of the corporate administration assignment, and there's more, have to continue with governance assignment lagi! Sigh~

At this rate, i might get an upset stomach caused by rushing during meals and brain failure caused by thinking to much! Cant wait for the weekend~

What i did on Nov 13th ^^V

I did lots of things on Thursday, the 13th of November.. Some were routine, some were wacky, some were ridiculous, some were fun! Finally collected all the raw materials needed for my post today! So here goes~~

Woke up early for my 8am class, then it was 3 classes in a row till 3pm with only an hour's break in between.. Anyway, Ms A followed me back to my room where we spent a great part of 2 hours hiding behind pillows while watching Ju-on (The Curse).. Well, i think it wasnt as scary as i thought.. but what to do, i still dare not look at those scary parts too much, less my imagination goes into overdrive and i start seeing 'things' everywhere i go..
Whats more, i had to spend the next few nights after that alone, so ~~

Anyway, we had planned to go to Jade 刘力扬's autograph signing session at 5.30pm with Mr SYF, so we were jus watching the movie to pass the time... Well, well, well, what should happen at 5pm but the heaviest thunderstorm! We practically braved buckets of water to get to the venue, which was: A lecture hall at our college.. surprise, surprise... Anyway, i dunno what happened to us but that die, die oso must go attitude jus came over us and so off we went getting all wet despite umbrellas...

Well, the lecture hall did look quite nice i must say,
much more interesting looking than when we are
having lectures, haha...

It was packed! I mean 3 of us were sharing 2 seats! Our lectures have never been that packed before,
even when we are having mid-term tests... :D

We were entertained by the college choir before
the guest of honour arrived, they sang Rasa Sayang
and Stand by me.. Quite good actually..

Yay.. and she's here!
chatting with the host, some DJ from Ai FM,
dunno her, sorry~~

Close up!
practically just a few cm away.. :)

Some more chatting and game playing..
Must be pointing at the stain in the ceiling and the hole in the wall.. Joking, joking, the lecture hall is quite new lah...

Taking a photo of the people taking photos :D

Well, it was quite fun lah, if we ignored the fact that we were the oldest students in the room.. I mean, where got advanced diploma 2nd year students still so crazy! Braving rain and wasting precious study time to go catch a not very well known singer in action, hahahha... we were laughing while imagining the looks of horror on our classmates' faces if they knew what we were doing then.. Cos many of my classmates are those book hugging type... Well, i am serious abt studing, but i still have enough little girl left in me to enjoy foing spontaneous, fun things once in a while :D

Anyway, 刘力扬 sang abt 3 songs and played some games with the students.. It was a pity that the sound system wasnt that good, and she kept apologising that she wasnt giving her best performance~~an asking us to buy the original album, duh... Well, i didnt buy lah, RM40 leh, and i havent even bought Sixology yet, of course wont buy hers lah.. O.o... In conclusion? She's really tall and pretty and cute, hahahha.. fancy telling us that she used to fall asleep in class and ended up skipping classes to sleep at home so as not to trouble the teacher.. :)

Next activity that day was a small gathering in lieu of 2 funny guys' birthdays...
Had dinner at 9 something that night.. Whereby we were so damn hungry that we ended up eating 8 persons worth of steamboat food + cake for 6 ppl! to summarize, we ate and talked and ate and talked somemore until 11 something.. I was so dead tired by then that i was almost nodding off already.. So a great end to a long long day...Stuffed with tiramisu cake and tomyam/porridge steamboat~~ :D

To Jayson and Jeff, 2 great guys:

Happy Birthday boys! :)

Butt-ache~~

~~As flat as a pancake~~

If i carry on with the kind of life i'm living now, i'm pretty sure thats what my rear-end is going to look like soon... :(

Morning wake up,

on pc to surf the net- sit
studying for mid-term tomorrow- sit
Eat lunch- sit
In class- sit
Watch some youtube to de-stress- still sitting
Work on assignments-sit
Eat dinner- sit some more

Oh god, i'm practically sitting almost the whole day!
What the heck.. i think besides sleeping, 80% of my waking hours are spent squashing my butt.. waa... Better practise squatting or stsnding while studying, dont you think??
Hmm, i wonder whether the lecturer while notice if i lie down during lectures... hehehe...

Or maybe i should get a softer chair??
Or what i'll do is invent a butt-shape protector or something :D

PS: This is soooo cute!

Disappointed...

Feel so disappointed.. Put in so much effort and only got 75 marks.. Sob sob >.<
Maybe i'm too afraid of losing, but i really feel so disappointed..
Wheres the meritocracy and fairness and transparency and logic???
How come i got less than ppl who couldnt answer all the questions?
Whose slides were messy and wordy?
Whose presentation did not have any eye-contact whatsoever?
Who did not prepare adequately????

Where are my 25 marks???!!!!

Ok, i'm done ranting.. ignore me if you like..
Going to wallow in self-pity for now...
Will feel better tommorrow~~~ :*

Feeling giddy (*.*)

Oh god, this week was really weird...
Monday, talk by British men...
Tuesday, talk by Scottish man..
Wednesday, talk by British man and Irish man...
Thursday, listened to Chinese girl from Peking.. (more on this later :D)
The timeline is kind of weird cos i saved this as a draft and i'm only typing this on the 14th...

Anyway, the focus today will be the talk on Wednesday.. It was actually a visit to our college by the ICSA UK president and CEO... So we got to wear the MAICSA T-shirt and everything..

The whole event was just so boring.. I nodded off quite a few times during the speeches.. so sorry~~ The only think of interest to me was the college's corporate video.. Not bad lor, quite impressive~~ They sure do know how to make ugly things look nice and yellow buildings look white! Wonder who was in charge of it.. I wld like the corporate video of my company (if any) in the future to look as impressive man!!

Anyway, i really feel that these so called intellectual ppl are really kind of fake..
All full of crappy, 'big' words but what they say doesnt really have much substance sometimes, so crappy that even us students can tell that they dont really know what they are talking abt sometimes... For more of my thoughts on this topic, kindly refer to this... :D

Anyway the Q & A session was a farce.. even our lecturers said so... and i dont really get wat the president is for.. just standing at the side and letting the CEO answer everything, sigh~~ and he gets paid so much... For what??! I hope next time i get to be president and not CEO.. that way my name will be higher up on the organisational chart and get a fatter paycheck and most importantly can talk less during official functions.. hehehhe... (But seems like all these ppl are kind of bald, hmm... shiny head=very rich? just wondering~~)

Tropic Thunder!!

I had really high hopes for this movie.. Why?? Cos life has been quite a drag lately and i really need some good laughs to make the days pass easier.. And i was pleasantly surprised that Tropic Thunder managed live up to its high billing and satisfied my laughter needs that day!

This film is directed by Ben Stiller, who also directed Night at the Museum before this.. Cant wait for Museum 2 to come out.. Basically, the story is abt some very spoiled, 'act like kings' Hollywood actors who complain all the time while filming a war movie called Tropic Thunder... The movie is supposedly based on a true story by a guy named Four-leave Tayback who lost his hands while fighting in Vietnam.

As the poor director cant control his lead actors, his film is now way over schedule and over budget as well.. After getting some advice drom the author himself, he decide to drop his actors in a Vietnamese jungle to let them experience living in a jungle and facing the unexpected firsthand... Only Tugg Speedman (Ben Stiller) the lead actor in the movie is keen on this as he thinks the movie will help revive his dying career... What they dont know is that the jungle is really a dangerous place as there is a small rebel army in charge of producing poppy who have taken over the jungle, and they do not welcome visitors..

Once they land, the poor director is literally blown away as he accidentally steps on a stray landmine.. The other actors assume the worst and want to return to their comfy hotel beds soon enough and poor Tugg is then left continuing the journey alone by following the scenes in the script.. Unfortunately he is caught and "tortured" by the rebels, and the rest of the guys are forced to re-enact the war story to save him...

I love this movie cos of many reasons..
Jack Black seems to be having fun as the drug addict cum pampered actor who is willing to do anything to get his fix, he showed his butt in so many scenes :D .. and Robert Downey Jr is great as the most confused actor on the planet-an Australian acting as an African American fighting in Vietnam... The movie also tells you that you can never believe anything 100%, like the 'true war story' that turned out to be a hoax, just fiction that was imagined by the author... those who know mandarin have another reason to watch the movie, i was laughing like mad at the weird chinese they were speaking in the film :D and try to catch Tom Cruise in action, tho i kind of hate his ridiculous role.. I also like the way they described the movie during the 'Oscars'- The true story of the making of the most expensive movie ever!

Robert Downey Jr as Kirk Lazarus-most confused actor on Earth!

There are quite a bit of funny (and gross) bits in the movie and i cant begin to list all of it down.. so be sure to watch it for yourselves! Dont say i didnt tell you, it was more worth it than Quantum of Solace (personal opinion lah) :D

One of the many of my fav lines from the movie: (from IMDB.com)
Tugg Speedman: Now, let's go get those Viet Congs.
[cocks his gun]
Alpa Chino: "Viet Cong!"
Tugg Speedman: What?
Alpa Chino: It's "viet cong." There's no "s," it's already plural. You wouldn't say "Chineses..."

:D

MAYHAPS.... PERHAPS... ???

Actually i dont really want to talk abt this.. Just let me let go of all the information i have and then just forget about it... I have enough in my head as it is and i dont want to think or hear abt this for now...

:D what the heck am i rambling on abt.. Well, heard 2 talks in 2 days and both were promotions and advertisements in a way.. The first one was the option to upgrade to a UK honours degree in a 3 month summer course in Liverpool (John Moores university- thats where the logo on top is from) and the second was the option to do a masters programme in Napiers University in Edinburgh, Scotland..

Both were full of beautiful scenic photos and testimonials and photos of happy seniors jumping around and both cost hundreds and hundreds of Pounds! No mood to think abt such things now since i dont even know whether i will have the chance to go.. So goodbye to you useless information that i have stored in my head now.. I shall type you all out and let you just fly away from my memories~~

Here:
Summer in Liverpool is just 12-30 degrees celsius, and actually anything above 25 degrees is very very rare.. so imagine living in Genting Highlands for 3 months.. Ooo..

Pots and pans and food and clothes can be bought cheaply from Primark and Tesco so dont bring too many things over to UK, but a rice-cooker is a must to pack..

Places of interest include Anfield, Chester town, Conway castle in Wales, Alberts dock, the Mersey river and its ferry service, etc etc etc..

There will be 5 modules (or subjects) including Strategic Purchasing, Strategic HRM and International Operational Marketing, one module lasts abt 2 and a half weeks including exams and course works..

Total fees 3298 pounds including 300 deposit, accommodation, 2 free trips, a meal voucher and medical insurance but excludes plane tickets and personal insurance and meals and shopping..

Applications and deposits must be handed in by Jan 5th, payable by bank draft and a form to pick your own housemates must be handed in as well, student visas must be prepared and interviews will be held in March and the remainder of the fees will be paid during induction..

The apartments are located 20 mins walk away from the campus and each apartment wull have 5-6 rooms. We will each have our own room and bathroom but share the cooking area and living room.. Microwave, cutlery, plates, laundry service, etc will be provided..

LJMU has 2 libraries called learning resource centres and a student union that will watch out for us and take us on trips during weekends... Term will begin on June 2 2009 and end on Sept 4 2009.. So those taking the ICSA exam will arrive one week later than the other students and thus will miss the student induction...

There, i think i've purged out most of the unwanted information.. My brain feels so much lighter now... hehehehe.. and i'm still waiting for the time when i'll be free to do my reviews!
Gotta run~~ more work to do....

Yikes...

I am so drowning in work right now..
Balasan for having a 'play' day yesterday...

I finally watched Tropic Thunder and Quantum of Solace...
No time for detailed reviews now eventho i wld like to do them but all i can say for now is, Tropic Thunder was amazing.. it was so fun to watch, and the audience, me included were all laughing like mad!! QoS however made me nearly fall asleep at some parts.. I think the dialogue was too draggy, the action scenes were great but not the talking bits.. I think the dialogue didnt really connect with the audience.. I was still quite blur abt wat was happening even halfway through the movie @.@~~

Hopefully i can do the reviews soon~~

And another complaint abt lunch.. Went to:

The way the guy pronounced it sounded like sakai sushi.. hehehe...
Honestly.. the food there is Nothing to shout about lor... Soft shell crab Temaki-not nice.. I've had better.. the ambience was so-so.. the tempura was a bit raw and hard.. the teriyaki salmon was a bit bitter cos some parts were burnt.. I think my expectations were a bit too high for an outlet in KLCC lor.. Hmm...

Thanks ms Yee for helping me sweep some cobwebs off myself.. hehe.. i havent gone anywhere like for more than one month already!! :D yay...

All in all i think i was quite thrifty,
2 movies
snacks
salmon teriyaki & Yasai Tempura Bento set +Green tea + 1 soft shell crab temaki
3 pkts Skinlite cucumber pads-total 30 pcs
1 pck tim tams-vanilla/chocolate
pomegranate juice
dried sweet potato snack
3 pckt Uncle Sun soup ingredients
Oyako Don set for dinner
transport
Simple oil balancing cleansing wipes
Total damage: RM130, hahahhaha, worth it lah...

PS: i was so happy with my seat for tropic thunder.. See, can see the whole screen so clearly neh!! :D

Hope i can finish my work soon~~

Inspiring... (or not...)

I would like to begin by making a tribute to the incredible, the amazing and the awe-inspiring~~~ Flu Bug!!

OMG... so many ppl in my class are down with the flu, and lecturers too.. and i dunno how many more ppl are awaiting the day the virus plans to show itself in them, heh... The ability of the flu bug to appear in so many places at once and its power to avoid any 'virus-fighting' cells in our bloodstream is enough to make it kind of a superhero, no?? even the strongest men in the world can succumb to it... yea, food for thought eh... :D

Well, all i can say is take care ppl, sleep more if you're tired and drink as much H2O as you possibly can, cos the mighty Flu-Bug is on the prowl for potential victims.. and i for one, dont want to be beaten by it... not that my presentations are coming up, and i tend to lose my voice whenever i get a runny nose...

To the Flu-Bug, i say:" SHOO!".....

and this is wat i've been addressing as 'my love' recently..

Just to prove that i've been so busy studying, i shall now tell you that SNICKERS is a registered trademark and its protected under the Paris Convention 1967, heehee... ~~Book Crazy...

Sleepy....

Forgive me if my blog has been uninteresting lately.. but i'm swamped!
Havent gone anywhere lately.. Life's so monotonous.. Filled with replacement classes and assignments and discussions and the odd bout of serial watching, hehehe... I currently have 3 halfway through shows, dang it! No time to watch oso... >.<

*(+-+)*

Finally caved in to my fear of going to the doctors today..
and my 'embarrassing problem' has been solved with the help of RM24, heh...
Went to Klinik Kita... and boy, there were so many patients that i waited more than one hour.. Its so popular cos if i remember correctly it was featured on tv before.. hehe...
(even go clinic oso must go to famous wan! :D)

Well the doctor was great, quite helpful but cant say the same for my fellow 'patients'...
There were scores of little kids running all over the place.. I swear if i had to sit there any longer i wld have caught one of them and slapped them... cant sit quietly is it??! >.<
If i was seriously sick and waiting for my turn there, i think i wld have fainted from the noise...

Oh, the only exciting thing that happened was that i saw a guy come in who looked like he was abt to die.. he was practically being dragged in by 2 of his friends... Dunno what ailed him tho.. Hmm...

PS: this colour scheme reminds me of something~~ :)
