Mish-mash of thoughts...

Happy Merdeka Day, Malaysia!!!
and to think i had almost forgotten abt it, stupidly asking my friend wat countdown it was when she asked
me to go to Sg Wang for a countdown...

Main characters: Ms TSY, Ms TMY & feat Ms LMH :)
And so we set off at ard 3pm to Bukit Bintang after some slight delay, which in the end helped us get to the bus station even earlier.. hehehe...
Pics taken during our delay, since too free nothing to do:

And so we rode the bus... many traffic policemen along the road all the way to the city center, the bus was also rerouted cos of road closures for the Merdeka celebrations...

First stop Pavillion! We were already planning wat to eat on the way there cos we were both starving... After walking round Food Republic, we settled on Ichiban Boshi, a Japanese restaurant originating from Singapore.. Ms TMY ordered Chicken Katsu Don and a potato salad while Ms TSY tried out the restaurant's famous soba--Hiyashi Chuka Soba.. See pic.
It was supposed to have duck meat but they ran out of it and substituted it with chicken instead... My opinion? It would have tasted better with duck i think... :( Too bad...
Anyway, while we 2 famished ppl were waiting, we each got a plate of something off the conveyor belt, hahahha:
Guess what are these??

hahahahha, crispy lobster roll and lobster salad inari, it was such a coincidence! we both got lobster... so i got to eat lobster yesterday, happy... :) we also had Houjicha-Japanese roasted tea, Mmm... it was good, i had 2 big mugs!

After buying egg tarts and donuts, we ended up in Times Square where were to meet Ms LMH, too bad we seemed to have exchange places, she was in Times Sq when we were at Pavillion and vice versa, sigh.. So we went to browse through the Japanese food fair at T.S..

For me, the prices are too too too exorbitant for just tidbits, so what if they're from Japan lah, so damn expensive! So didnt buy any lor.. We walked round all the RM10, RM25 shops etc.. surprising how some clothes that are quite nice are so cheap... Ended up with a hoodie, leaving me with only RM3 cash! Geng, first time i dare go out with so little cash..
RM3 became RM2 and then RM0 after an RM1 donation (dunno got kena scam or not those ppl who donated RM50) and sprite at McD.. Met up with Ms LMH ard 6.30pm and we talked and talked and talked like there was no tomorrow, until ard 8.30pm!

Time to go book a spot in front of the stage, although our tickets were VIP, but still free standing only! Anyway, moral of the story is old ppl like me shouldnt go to such things so much, damn tiring, and don't go and watch Rynn Lim if you dont like him, cos it always rains when he is ard.. 3rd time this happened to me dy... everytime see him oso rain wan! ~.~ We left at ard 11.30pm partly cos of the rain, partly cos didnt wan to stay till too late cos of the crowds... This concert was quite miserable for me cos:

-was standing in front of the mist fan, cool but wet ( we were joking abt how we didnt have to moisturize anymore when we got home, haha)
-didnt get to see who i wanted to see-林宇中! Who asked him to bring the rain then... Only got to see kelefeh singers...
-Got a bunch of crazy ppl at the back spraying each other with those smelly foam spray thingies, yer...

But i had fun lah, cos of my crazy friends.. we were joking and laughing all the way, being the daniel lee haters that we are, we were actually chatting and taking pics during his slot, haha.. and we were joking abt him behind his fan club members.. So bad hor... Luckily didnt get chided by them!

Anyway, i got a bunch of rubbish from the concert (beware, blatant advertising for Digi!)
But the Yellow Coverage Fellow is soo soo cute man! He was the one throwing stuff to us

The stage: ( the thing sticking out looks suspiciously like a sausage!)

Yellow man again!

OMG, KL air is so damn polluted, my face was all black by the time i got back!
Check out the black dirt on my cleansing cloth!

Yucky man! But i still delayed my bath time to play some of 林宇中's songs to make up for the disappointment.. haha..
Check this out!

He's so cute lah!
and the girl in the MV originally looks like this:
What a beauty! looks a bit like Jessica Alba...

Oh and i hav to mention this boy Bryan who is from 残酷一叮malaysia
, wow can he sing, really enjoyed his performance!!! very very good, the way he handled Gary Chao's 起床歌 5 stars man!!! My fren was shouting"小弟弟你很帅" when he was performing, hahaha...

commenting on a pointless post...

To whom it may concern:

I love my life!
The previous post was just me ranting to get off steam...
So please ignore... As reading back i find it so bleak and depressing...
hahahaha....

Que sera sera @-\---

Sometimes i wonder if i should do a post in chinese... But i'm lazy cos then i'll have to do double the work, typing then choosing... 我的华语越来越退步了!! somehow, dreamy posts always look more sophisticated when in chinese, hahahha...

Been wondering abt the future lately... Wonder how it'll be...
Ppl always have high expectations when you're the firstborn...
I have a classmate whose brother is so successful now, he can afford to take care of the whole family.. Which, in turn leaves my lucky friend with no pressure at all...
What abt me??!

I want a house! very nice one with lacquered wooden floors mind...
and a dog! my very own one...
and a cleaning lady!
and endless trips and holidays!
and the ability to be able to buy things i like the moment i see it! not budget & scrimp & save beforehand...

Seems like i'm a greedy pig, but truthfully... many ppl are able to have such things at a young age and i feel pretty bad when envy rears its ugly head... Cant help it,
keep hearing classmates going to Japan, Hongkong, Bangkok, etc etc... Sigh...
keep seeing friends wearing Guess, LV, Esprit, etc etc...
hear them talking abt the summer course in England like it doesnt cost anything at all....

But how, money is tight and it'll be my responsibility to get us out of this rut...
well.. well.. no pressure at all...
Sigh....
What will become of my life??!

Que sera sera... whatever will be will be....

Pointless post?? Maybe...

Pan's Labyrinth ^^V

Had a lazy week.. Somehow, the exam mood hasnt really sunk in yet...
Was going through all the rubbish stored in my hard disk and i realised that i still have quite a few old movies that i havent had the time to watch yet... Before this i'd already watched Bee movie and American Pie.. So i decided to watch Pan's Labyrinth.. I have wanted to watch this since so long ago when i saw its clip during the oscars...

Wat really intrigued me was this:
Cute or disgusting you decide but i find it kind of cute... :)
Anyway after watching it, i realised that i have found my favourite movie of the year!!
2006 that is, since this was released 2 yrs ago... omg, i'm so outdated...

Pls believe me when i say this is a MUST WATCH movie, if you somehow do not believe what i say then pls go to rotten tomatoes to have a look :)

Directed by Guillermo Del Toro who also did hellboy, Pan's Labyrinth is in Spanish but the subtitles are awesome as the way it is told makes the story even more beautiful... Its essentially about the cruelty of life and how ppl must hold on to any ray of hope that is available..

The movie starts with the ending, an eerie song being hummed by a woman (we later know that its actually a lullaby) and a little girl with a bloody hand, bleeding from the nostrils.. The blood slowly seeps back into her and the story starts:

Ofelia is sent to the Spanish countryside with her mother as her stepfather is a captain of the ruling regime and he wants his wife to give birth to his son there.. BTW, the captain character is the most MCP man you will ever see! On the way, she chances upon some stick-like creature that she assumes is a fairy.. Over time, her mother, Carmen is bedridden as her difficult pregnancy progresses, but Ofelia is very preoccupied as the fairy appears in her room one night and leads her to the labyrinth near the mill where no one dares to go...

There, she meets a very scary/ugly looking faun who tells her that she is in fact a princess from the underground world.. To prove her status in order to be able to return, she has to complete three tasks: getting a golden key from a giant toad's belly, staling a dagger from a man-eating creature's home and the last one is a test on her character.. The pic above is actually of the man-eating creature who has its eyes on its hands, really disgusting.. During the second task, Ofelia was warned time and again not to eat or drink anything from the creature's table, but she was tempted resulting in the death of 2 of the fairies which were the faun's pets...

I wont be able to type out every detail otherwise this will be a super long post.. But anyway, on the other hand, rebels in the mountains break into the general's storehouse where he has collected and stored the whole village's food rations.. He then suspects there is a spy amongst him.. This turns out to be his housekeeper and the family doctor.. Around the same time, Carmen dies during childbirth after bringing into the worls a baby boy, the MCP captain is damn happy of course.. The faun though is very angry about his pets and tells Ofelia that she will never become a princess...

This movie isn't only fantasy.. It's gore, adventure, drama, fantasy, etc all rolled into one..

Imagine someone killed by being hit repeatedly in the face with a bottle.. Or a rebel who stutters being tortured with a hammer so that he will tell who his informants are.. There's also one scene where the captain gets his mouth sliced Ala 'The Joker' style... eew... As a short ending, i can only tell you that good prevailed over evil.. Even though Ofelia and her mother both died, their spirits went back to the underground world where they lived happily ever after and the rebels were able to overthrow the evil ruling regime..

You have to watch it to understand lor.. For your info, this movie won 6 oscars and is in the top 10 movies list of many critics.. 5*****stars!!!!!!
Anyone who wants the clip, come find me.. hehe...

Its Time....

What time is it you may ask...

Screaming hysterically...

Yeah well, kind of... i'm not really the kind who panics during exams but the arrival of the final exam timetable really makes you sit up and realise that its time to start working hard, hehe...

Stupid stupid timetable.. so ugly!
College official exam date is 4th Sept-20th Sept, and guess what! Mine starts on the 2nd day and ends on the second last! Wonder which sarcastic person arranged the timetable... I even have one paper in the afternoon.. I hate 2PM papers cos tats the time i always feel the most sleepy, urghh...

Click pic to view properly...

Pls forgive me if i do not return calls or reply messages on the 5th, 10th, 16th and 19th of Sept yea.... Cos of you know wat.... >.<

hard luck...

Sigh sigh.... no luck...
none for me, none for Malaysia.... Sadness...
my 'un'lucky number didnt make it into the winners list after all
The closest it came to was 2342- Toto special prize and 2282-Toto FIRST PRIZE... waa....
If only i had won the first prize... Imagine what i would have done with it man...

Dreaming wistfully: big big buffet meal someplace... better present for my bro's b'day, better anniversary present for bf... shopping... ~~~~~all gone now... :(

Yesterday i was waiting, no no make that anticipating the olympics badminton men's singles finals...

Turned out to be a huge huge disappointment... Poor Lee Chong Wei was beaten to a pulp by the world number one! But really lor, he (L.D.) really deserves to be number one... no disputing it... see how he played!!!! It was a hotly discussed topic today... Even my tutor wanted to talk abt it during our oral test... which turned out to be a fluke anyway... easy peasy... scored full marks, hehe...so turns out there was still some (albeit very little) luck left for me today...

Turns out some ppl think that China could have paid Lee Chong Wei RM1.2 million to counter Malaysia's RM1 million offer for Chong Wei to lose so that China could have even more 'face' than they already have.. In my opinion, this is very highly possible since China can afford fake CGI fireworks, fake national anthem singers and fake Zero poverty policies... haha... but i guess this will remain a mystery anyway...

Back to local news, very saddening and stupid news today:
UiTM STudents Want to Sue Selangor MB!!
Come on lah, and they want to say that Malaysia wants a bangsa malaysia... This is crap!
Even Britain is full of ppl of other races now and we dont see them being shut out from certain institutions! Its just plain unfair and sad that they refuse to let ppl of other races in... My guess is that they are afraid of the competition... Imagine:
UiTM Honours List: Tan G.L, Chong K.M, Raju A/L Bala and so on... with a measely Hasnah bt Ali right at the bottom... That would make them so shy... :) Thats so pathetic....
Anyway, i really respect Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim for his statements... He's so brave, salute him!

Hope the stupid ppl at UiTM will just shut up and let the world keep revolving instead o wanting to force it to move according to their momentum...

Alright, vented enough already, off to some game playing to relax... Yay!!!

I need LUCK!!!!! :P

It all begins with a funny dream i had last night abt a very old and good friend of mine, my nickname for her is Yee-T, hehe... I havent seen her in god knows how long... But in my dream she brought me to her house and eventho its seemed quite real, there were quite a few ridiculous elements..
  • Her mum was pretending to act all shy and kept trying to hide behind newpapers, chairs, etc when i called her 'auntie', where got ppl act like tat wan right.. haha..
  • Her boyfriend looked something like Dilbert (I've never seen him before).. All nerdy, with glasses and spiky hair, haha... sorry gal, but it was a dream...
  • Yee-T thought her house number was 22 when in actual fact it was 24.. So ridiculous, so far i havent met anyone who doesnt kow their own address lor, little kids included! Which brings me to why i need luck..
Most chinese are very excited when they have numbers in their dreams... and my mum is no exception! When i told her abt my dream, she was so excited cos she oso had an inspiration regarding my number, coincidence or fate i dunno! So i need all the luck i can get, hehe... Cos *shivering wif excitement here* i laid a bet on it!! Wish me luck ppl, then i can slowly dig my way out of my financial rut... every little helps i guess, since my bet is very very miniscule anyway..

Anyone who would like to fold 1000 paper cranes for me?? Cos i have a coursework test tomorrow and its going to be an on-the-spot question and answer thingie... And i really hope the questions are in my favour... Dont want to be standing out there like a scarecrow and not saying anything do I.....

Lucky lucky lucky...
with you will come my money...
and tests will be so easy....
Hurry up and come to me...
then i would be so happy!!!

~Thats a poem by me~ :)

Tata... wish me luck for tomorrow... oh and this evening too.. hehe..

w33kend again! :)

Damn, I just passed up an opportunity to go to a warehouse sale! If not, I wouldnt be here making my ass flat by sitting at my desk all day...

Although, judging by the weather outside, i feel much better cos at least i'm not drenched in sweat waiting for the bus or something.. With my character i'm bound to get competitive when i see ppl buying this and that, and i may end up with a pile of things that i seldom use anyway, so its better i didnt go right... Some ppl may think i'm crazy but i actually enjoy staying at home very much! Sometimes i may even pass up appointments cos im super duper lazy to go out...

It may get a bit depressing to hide out alone once in a long while but until then, im prepared to have some 'me' time.. Just off the top of my head i can think of a million things to do at home but here are a few suggestions:

Self-pampering
have a DIY manicure, pedicure, facial... Anything! its fun and relaxing and cheap

Play games
PC games, Console games, Online games.. Train yr reflexes and brain functions.. One of my favourite pastimes!

Clean up
Weekends alone are great for serious cleaning.. Clear any debris or clutter for a fuss-free life i say... But i seldom do this lah.. so many other things to do leh...

Watch something
Since i dont have a TV in my room, my daily staple consists of dramas, movies and Youtube! Lately, i've been hooked on Taiwanese entertainment shows on youtube.. really helps you pass time lor, hehe... and they're funny too, nothing like laughter to make you happy...

Play dress up
I have so many things in my wardrobe that im not sure what i have anymore, so on weekends i like to take everything out try on clothes that i havent worn in ages or try to match them and stuff, then put them back again...haha, you may start thinking im a bit mad by now...

Anyhow, these are things i really do all the time, not to mention surfing the net, reading, pottering about, bla bla bla... oh yeah, and studying as well (sometimes) ;) So, in conclusion, i LOVE staying home... hehehehhe

Hot HOT Hot!!!!!

Last night was the most miserable night i've experienced in the hostel so far....
Dang! no electricity!
Made me regret coming back so soon man....
Only one word can describe the what i felt--- HOT!
yea, it was hot and i cldnt sleep cos i cld hear every sound the stupid insects were making...
No choice, we had to open the window or suffocate...
Luckily power came back around 3am...
Longest one hour in my life...
Dunno why its become a usual occurrence to have power outages nearing exam time...
Must be the college's feeble attempts to make us start studying earlier??! Hmm...

bodyache & bedspreads...

Dunno why but I feel so so tired today... Keep wanting to sleep only, which is ridiculous cos i overslept by 2 hours this morning and spent most of the 4 hour journey from JB to KL sleeping as well... Yelp! I've been infected by the sleepy bug... Maybe its a result of being stuffed full of food from top to toe since last friday... Wat to do... So many nice things waiting for me to tuck into.. Home-cooked food is always the best, yeah!!!

************************************************************************************** Brought Mr SYF to JB's town centre.. Together wif my bro, we took a bus there to the most convenient place to go to-City Square... Its funny how its becoming more and more like Sungai Wang, with all those little girls dressed in taiwanese-japanese fashion that i dont care for... Hmm... All the girls are starting too look the same to me... Heavy makeup, same type of clothes...

Anyway, we watched X-Files (I want to believe) which in my opinion wasnt good at all... The story was boring in quite a few places and the climax was so predictable that it cant really be considered a climax... The only saving part was Gillian Anderson's acting, but even that cldnt make me sympathise wif her character... Its like the actors didnt really put heart into the movie.. The frankenstein plot wasnt very attractive either, as a mystery story, its too predictable.. As a scary movie, there arent a lot of scary parts, gross maybe but not scary... As an intellectual movie, the story is too half-baked.. Its like they made this movie just to show that The X-Files is still around with no other reason whatsoever.. It was very very disappointing lor...
1.5 Stars out of 5, half a star out of sympathy :)

Just like the Baskin Robbins ice-cream fondue...
Haha... Its so messy to eat... I wouldnt have it a second time, I swear... unless some rich philantrophist wants to belanja me.. The ice-cream starts melting the moment it reaches the table! And instead of savouring the tastes, we ended up fighting against time to gobble everything up before it melted into a pool of milk...

Highlight of the day was something out of the blue tho! A small, not very well-known Ramen shop in Taman Sutera.. hehe... Surroundings were nice, food was delicious and prices very reasonable! 2 thumbs up! But too bad my first choice-Sharksfin Ramen was unavailable... Luckily my Teriyaki Chicken tasted good enough to make up for the disappointment! Bro's smoked duck Ramen was good too as well as mum's Abalone Ramen... Abalone for only RM9?! hahahhahaha... and it tasted really good too.. unbelievable!

Salivate lah ppl!! :)

Cathay Cineplex, not bad not bad... Pretty looking B.R fondue
smoked duck ramen: Pretty nice surroundings for an unknown shop eh...

Homeward Bound...

The title should give you a clue as to where i'll be the next few days ;)

I think i shall list writing reviews as a hobby next time i'm asked.. Perhaps some editor who accidentally passes by will then invite me to some movie screenings to write real reviews??! Hahahaha... daydreaming, dont mind me...

Anyway, watched The Dark Knight yesterday..
In my opinion, it was quite satisfactory... At least the ending made sense and gave me some tingles.. They really painted Batman as such a noble character, which makes you pity him and worry for his future.... The villains were real creepy, most of all Heath Ledger as the Joker... His image is so disturbing lah, luckily i didnt have any nightmares... Its weird that this movie was given a U rating, no wonder ppl's minds are so twisted now... I mean, there were little kids watching ppl being blown up and getting cut! Parents who bring children to watch the dark knight are CraZy imho....

A few negative comments tho... why get such an old and plain looking leading lady?! She's supposed to attract billianaires and politicians, why not get someone a little more georgeous and interesting? Like how Racheal Weisz was in Mummy 1 & 2?? Hmm... And i agree with many ppl that Batman's voice was kind of disturbing... made me not want to hear him say anything... Next time use yr own normal voice lah, christian bale, and you could get a few more muscles too if you may.. the false muscles on the suit look funny... :)

overall it was enjoyable, maybe cos of the sound effects, i jumped a few times in my seat... The batmobile and sky hook were awesome.. and the internal turmoil within humans was interesting too.. like i always say, i love movies with a logical plot!! especially those that show the good and bad in mankind...

4 STARS ****
no matter what other ppl might say, i really did enjoy this movie...

--> batmobile, woohoo~~

--> "hi, i have plastic looking muscles" :)

--> "Hmm, i look old on the big screen.."

--> "Lets put a smile on that handsome face" hehehe

--> Take care Morgan Freeman...

Next up:
Wall-E
The Mummy 3
X-Files~maybe
Anticipation is rising within me^^V

Hey YOU

Please lah... stop attacking my phone...
I know its an old, outdated model,
i know it doesnt have some of t latest functions like 3G,
i know its kind of bulky...
But no need to keep attacking it left, right and center... :(

I already held back when you pointedly said its not in production anymore... So, its old I know... I bought almost 3 yrs ago leh! Why must you keep pointing out that its used by a lot of construction workers, etc etc?? Very annoying you know?? Just that I seldom answer back when being 'attacked' doesnt give you the right to do it all the time k?!! If I did answer everytime, we'd be arguing all day... Pls think of my feelings ok, i'm an impatient person and i'm doing my best not to explode dy... Sighhh....

Is it cos my phone has never given me any big problems and you're jealous?
Or is it cos you jus bought a new one and need somewhere to show it off??
This is the last time i wanna hear abt these things ok.... enough already..
Maybe i'm already past the age where a phone is a symbol of status, as long as it serves its purpose...
Or maybe after using it for so long, i'm kind of attached to it... I dunno... But i'm not changing it in the near future anyway, if tats wat you wanna hear to give you a big smirk on yr face...?
I love my SEw810i JUST THE WAY IT IS!!!!
