Europe Trip Day 5: Munich-Innsbruck-Verona

On Day 5, we left Munich for Innsbruck in Austria.. Would have loved to see Vienna, but time and money.. time and money constraints >.<

Check this out, this is the main attraction in Innsbruck, besides crystals and snowy peaks, can you spot whats so special??

Its a building with a golden roof!
After I read the wiki page, I realised its not real gold, cheh...

Golden lady below the golden roof O.o..

Visited this place next-- Giant Swarovski store~

Lots and lots of shiny crystals on display and on sale there.. I managed to keep a tight hold on my wallet tho.. Many people couldnt resist the tempting stuff and ended up on a shopping spree.. No choice, I kept thinking about the price in Ringgit to control myself, haha...

Fancy some crystal earphones? 80 euros only.. :D

or a crystal encrusted pendrive perhaps? 150 euros~

The whole of the ground floor was decorated to look like a winter wonderland with icicles stuff.. :)

With lady boss at McD in Innsbruck..
Finally finally met up with the gang after so many days of fruitless searching :)

Guess what guess what? :P

Supposedly a must-try in Innsbruck..

Their companions in the store, haha..

Are they cute or what?!

Some part of Innsbruck~

The winter olympics is sometimes held here...

Have you ever seen a river this colour in Malaysia??

The second half of Day 5 was spent in Verona, Italy.. Lovely place.. but super hot! It wasn't included in our tour originally, and we paid extra 5 euros to go there..

Roman Gateway to Verona

I vaguely remember having a Hot Wheels toy that looked like this.. haha..

An interesting sculpture in Verona's main square called
Marc Quinn’s statue ‘Alison Lapper, Pregnant’

The Clock Arch

Wanna make a guess where these steps lead to??

The most interesting public toilets I have ever seen.. The stalls are so huge..

This is Vittorio Emanuele II who unified Italy.. Saw similar statues in Rome and Venice oso~

The Arena in Verona, much smaller than the Coliseum tho..

An administrative building that can be considered quite new compared to the other buildings there... :)

Between the old and the new~

2 Roman soldiers who got left behind.. :D

Narrow but at least shady streets in Verona...

The clock tower is called Torre dei Lamberti

Finally we reach the place that attracted us to Verona in the first place.. Since Verona is supposedly the birthplace of Romeo & Juliet (don't tell me you dunno them!), we were going to visit 'Juliet's house' where theres a statue of Juliet that you have to touch for good luck.. Along the way, everyone was so excited, cos our tour leader kept saying 'touch her breast', hahahha.. and thats what all tourists there actually did..

People from all over post love notes on the walls leading to the courtyard..

The balcony where Romeo sings to Juliet in the story

Its actually only an old, crumbly building if it didn't have this

A statue of Juliet of course~ see where the colour is lighter where ppl have been touching it??

Some geli guy demonstrating the right way to do it.. :D

Saying bye bye to Verona's main square~

Lots and lots of vineyards on the way to the hotel of the night~

We saw a horrible horrible jam on the other side of the road.. that was so long that it seemed like it went on forever.. Luckily on the opposite side..

The cause of it all~

and i have to talk abt the lousiest/ eeriest hotel ever.. Hotel Carletto (3 stars some more >.<).. where 12 ppl allocated 6 rooms ended up only using 3 rooms.. Lets start with my own room shared with Adelynne, it was right at the end of a long dark corridor, and there was this huge mirror facing the beds..

Mirror not shown here but the room just didnt feel right..

Why the 2 chairs plus creepy rug facing the mirror?!

Our friends' rooms were even weirder, a room for 2 with 4 beds and 2 toilets, wth! So we ended up sharing rooms.. The worst thing was there was only one socket in the whole huge room and it was occupied by the TV.. and the breakfast was horrible too.. maybe we were too used to being pampered in other hotels having buffet breakfasts everyday, but 2 buns and juice are a little too extreme don't you think?!

even the lobby is creepy~

Entrance to the 'goodness knows how old it is' hotel~

Damn, I still have 9 days left to talk abt and I won't be having internet access for the weekend.. >.<
