Good Skin Labs Workshop at Centrepoint South :)

Attended my first ever beauty workshop today :):):) at the office of the company which brings us all these fabulous brands:-

WoW~

Amazing how i'm at Mid Valley City almost everyday but i've never been to Centrepoint South.. Never knew they use the same canggih technology as the Gardens Office Towers for visitors to enter.. hee~ The Good Skin Labs Workshop was held at Suria Meriang Sdn Bhd's office on the 18th floor.. and me being kiasu, arrived earlier than the stipulated time of 11am.. most ppl arrived close to 11.30am so we started late >.<

The lovely view that met me at the entrance :):)

yummies from Delifrance~

I went straight into the room where the workshop was to be held and it was a very nice sight.. (take note i've never been to such things, so dont mind my gushing please.. hehehe) many many mirrors and products and basins on the tables~~

Inside the room~

The products that we were going to try..

My breakfast + Lunch :)

We started off with a presentation by the sales manager, Elaine who explained about all the products, including the latest ones LumecinTM and SculptinexTM, what they were used for and how to use them.. it was all very fun and entertaining and ppl who answered questions correctly got sample sachets as presents.. I got one too! I remember one joke was that we have to start minimising our wrinkles early, before they have the chance to expand their business - cos they usually tend to join together into even longer lines before we know it :D

The cute presenter~~

After that, one of the participants was chosen to be the model, and we were all shown how to use each product properly before we were let loose to DIY our demo on ourselves.. yippee~

and then the fun begins~ :)

Products we tried inclded:

1) Citra-Peel for brightening skin
2) Eyeliplex-2 for a younger eye area
3) Tri-Aktiline for filling fine lines and wrinkles
4) Smooth-365 for more even and smooth skin
5) Sculptinex for firmer skin
6) Lumecin (only could try on our hands cos its for night use only) for brightening the skin tone

As Good Skin Labs is famous for its instant results, we had fun staring each other up trying to look for differences between the left and right sides of our faces (i went with my colleagues).. for me, the one with the most obvious effect was Tri-Aktiline which visibly reduced the depth of my laugh lines (lines at the side of yr nose when you smile/laugh) .. my face looked damn imbalanced after only applying on one side..

Citra-Peel was a little scary for me cos i'm quite afraid of peeling products with my super sensitive skin, and you feel rather tingly/ itchy when you apply Part 1 cos the active ingredient is citric acid.. my face was reddish after using it, but after Part 2, the soothing solution and washing with water, i did feel my face looked a little brighter (or was it imagination @.@~)

One of my colleagues however, saw the biggest difference after using Sculptinex, cos half her face looked rounder than the other, it was so obvious that we kept asking her to hurry up and do the other side of her face or risk walking ard with a lopsided face.. muahahaha...

Had so much fun still not enough, still got a goodie bag to bring home :) with trial versions of Lumecin, Tri-Aktiline and Smooth-365, not forgetting my extra sample sachet :):) we also received RM50 vouchers :):):)

Almost everyone thronged the sales booth after the session, and i believe they sold lots of stuff today.. I invested in one of the best-sellers eventhough it didnt exactly have any instant results lah... need to use at least 8 weeks..

Used my voucher for this.. cost me RM145 after less RM50.. boohoo.. so expensive.. but i think i really need something to save my absolutely dry eye area which is starting to grow some serious fine lines and dark circles :(

My total haul from the workshop :)

Pretty happy that i went, especially cos it was free (previously they charged a fee) and i sure wouldnt mind going to other workshops like this.. would like to go to a Bobbi Brown or Laura Mercier one in future.. hehehehe...

Website: Good Skin Labs

PS: The stupidest thing.. I left my whole goodie bag including my expensive eye cream at the bank, forgetting all abt it until after i finished grocery shopping at Carrefour and was sitting down at the bus stand ready to go home.. luckily the kind officers at CIMB The Gardens kept it for me, and even checked who it belonged to from my credit card slip.. Thank you so much~~

My lunchmates~

Another thing to fortify the belief that i am a bit crazy -- I think I do love my job, even when its been super hectic recently, and its been giving me dream-ful nights~ I figure I also love my colleagues.. in fact i kind of miss them during the weekends... incredible huh?!

Anyways, besides my groupmates, the second group of ppl that i interact the most with during office hours are my lunchmates.. No need to worry abt eating lunch alone anymore since they appeared~ :) and we have fun chatting with oulook express, which is as good as msn in my opinion.. hehehe...

So far besides the usual vegetarian packed lunch that we can have delivered to our office, we've been to Canton-i, Ko Hyung, Sushi Zen, Nyonya Colours, McDonalds, Subway, Zun Express by Eu Yan Sang, Spaghetti, etc etc etc and of course-Redbox+ hehehehhe.... (love two-hour lunches on Fri as well, muahahahha)~~

Me, Missha, Nikita, Vi Dea and Esmei~

First time lunching+karaoke-ing together~~ (went for a second time already and hopefully many more times to come.. muahahaha)

Celebrating Missha's b'day March 25th~

Sad to say that Niki will be leaving for greener pastures soon.. Goodluck to her, Su, Mish, V and Mei will miss youuuu....Ppl come and go, but i really truly hope that the saying that true friends are hard to find at the workplace will not hold true for me.. *crossing my fingers* :):)

Thean Hou Gong (天后宫)

Did something inconceivable the previous weekend after collecting my convocation photos.. After fish head beehoon at Kuchai Lama, we spent a long time mulling over where to go before deciding to go to a temple, of all places... whats more, we had to rely on GPS to get to this particular temple in Kuala Lumpur.. hahahaha...

I have finally been to the famous Thean Hou Temple.. :) not much pics tho.. lazy to be touristy in KL.. haha...

I love the courtyard~~ :)

Anyway, one reason why ppl visit the temple is to 求签 (oracles.. a little bit like asking yr fortune) cos its supposedly very accurate.. the ones now are damn canggih, instead of shaking and shaking the container until a stick drops out, you just grab the whole bunch and let go, just like playing 'pick-up sticks' and one stick will automatically jut out longer than the rest, very amazing... so wat the heck, i got one for myself, and it read:-

(1) All Roads Lead to Rome

Although the paths ahead are rough and rugged, they will eventually lead you to your destination - Success, provided you persevere and pursue with unrelaxed efforts. Be God-fearing and conscientious in life, and Lord will protect and guide you to your desired goal.

第一签-甲子

日出便见风云散
光明清静照世间
一向前途通大道
万事清吉保平安

Basically its a good one.. so hopefully everything will work itself out.. Go ahead and start speculating what my question was.. :P Personally, i feel that we should only believe the good parts, and ignore any bad parts, so dont be disheartened if you get a negative answer to your question, cos in the end, our future's still ours to plan for, isn't it?

Didnt go round the whole giant temple, the only other place that interested me was this:-

The tortoise pond, hehehe~

lots and lots and lots of them, and they came in every size as well :)

cute but awkward looking fella :)

The poor creatures were being drowned in bread, cos there was a family with many little kids and many loaves of bread.. the kids just kept throwing and throwing the bread into the pond eventho the tortoises were obviously not very hungry.. worst thing was the parents themselves oso couldnt control their kids.. and who asked them to bring so much bread in the first place?! >.<

As for me, ended up having bak kut teh at Subang Jaya for dinner that night, i still cant understand how i managed to end up there @.@~

wat a crazy sunday.....

Late V-day at The Curve~

During my 'extra' long weekend on MC and my spectacular fever, i went to The Curve, Mutiara Damansara.. To do what? you ask, well, to sing karaoke... yeah, with my scratchy throat and manly voice and all.. didnt wanna spoil our eagerly anticipated plans, and i really wanted to go.. so die oso must ngeh ngeh sing :P

Had McDonald's hotcakes and girly chat for breakfast:) then off to Redbox~

Luckily it was only a two-hour package, cos my voice was barely holding up after that.. but from the following photos, you can see that i was still hogging the microphone all the way.. hee~

The waiter who took this epic fail lah.. can see all my wads of tissue paper and mugs of hot lemon coke.. @.@~

With lovely Lilian, who's grinning like the cheshire cat here.. muahahaha

For the record, i could see the lyrics quite clearly, just the font for the menu when choosing songs is a teeny bit tiny... :P but i like this pic a lot anyway~

V=Victory, after conquering 2-hours of singing while coughing away :S

Before i start off with the next part, i have to say this: I love you Michelle! hehehe.. cos if it wasn't for you, i wouldnt have fulfilled one of my wishes, which was to watch Valentine's Day at the cinema.. Incidentally, i think the day we watched it was the last day it was screening already, cos there was only one show at 1pm... and Michelle had the brainwave to go check the Cathay website the previous night.. *hugs and kisses* for you here..

One of the best movies i've watched in awhile~~

Im really really glad i didnt miss this movie.. it was funny, sweet, touching, real, soppy, heartbreaking all at the same time.. and the entire cast was given a chance to shine with their individual stories..

I especially loved Jennifer Garner and Ashton Kutcher in this.. JG as the girl in love with a two-timing doctor and AK as the florist on the busiest day for the floral industry who is dumped by his high achiever girlfriend on Valentine's Day.. the grandma and grandma couple was cute too.. and Anne Hathaway's Russian accent, hehehehe... (IMHO, the 2 Taylor's dont really match.. O.0..), but with all the laughing, i still managed to get all teary eyed at the end, and all 3 of us came out from the cinema feeling very happy and satisfied :D

I also found my new favourite song by Taylor Swift off the soundtrack- Today Was A Fairytale~ :):)

Crazy over Breanne Duren~

I have fallen in love with this girl's voice, and i'm sure many a guy will also fall in love with her face :D Who is Breanne Duren?? I wouldn't have known if i didnt do some research on my flavour of the week song. She's actually part of Owl City, the group that has suddenly popped up and become popular all of a sudden.. i heard their songs playing in The Gardens this afternoon~~

Found this other nice song that she's featured in on Youtube~ The group is called Swimming With Dolphins (cute eh?) and the song's called Silhouettes:-

Can't get this outta my head..

"Time together is just never quite enough~
What would it take to make or break this hint of love?
When we're apart whatever are you thinking of?
So tell me darling do you wish we'd fall in love?
All the time~~~"

No more a student :(

Almost a year ago, i embarked on the greatest adventure in my life up till now, and came home with a whole load of wonderful experiences, memories, new friends and of course, the main reason i went in the first place, a piece of paper! Not any old piece of paper tho, one that enables me to become a part the big group of ppl joining the rat race known as 'degree-holders'~

Feel a bit sheepish writing this on 27th May 2010 when i graduated in September 2009 and attended the convocation on February 28, 2010.. hehe.. well, just thought that as the new batch of students make their way over to UK this year, its time to for the 'been there, done that' (or quite simply, me..) to close finish this chapter and get on with life after completing my studies..

Held at the KLCC Convention Centre, the ceremony was quite grand, with organ music and foreign VIP guests (and also costed a bomb, the maicsa convo is cheaper by half and comes in a package :*).. Basically what i remember is getting there, putting on gown and mortarboard (which kept threatening to fall off my big head, grr..) and running ard taking photos with everyone.. which means --- picturetime! :)

half of my classmates in LJMU :)

4/5 of my assignment group in UK

with Jason, the guitar teacher :P

With part of the Liverpool gang~

With our course leader, Mr Colin St Paul, whom i hear is retiring soon to spend more time with his grand-daughter.. aww..

With Mummy!! xoxo~

Got dragged into this group picture with some coursemates~~

Love the cute candid shot, hehehe~

with my classmate for god knows how many years, Adelynne a.k.a. SpIdEr, in the hall where we collected our gowns.. :)

After entering the plenary hall where the ceremony was to be held, we were seated alphabetically to wait our turn to get on stage to collect our scrolls.. super hot with the spotlights on us, one girl behind me even felt faint... entertained ourselves by sms-ing each other making funny comments about the speeches and the VIPs in front.. :D Then, after collecting our scrolls, we entertained ourselves some more by creating a ruckus at the back while taking group photo after group photo, hahahha...

attempt at cute poses failed~ @.@~

half-squatting pose damn ugly :(

Loads more pics, but dont want to bore you to death, do I? hehe.. The ceremony lasted until well over 1pm, and we werent allowed to leave the hall... after that my two guests, who were my mum and cousin, skipped the complimentary buffet lunch to go to Madam Kwan's for lunch with my cousin-in-law and their 2 sons.. :):)

Cuteness!

Didnt know a convocation should be so exhausting, and i tot the studying was the tiring part, hehe.. No more student life for me (even if i take a postgraduate course, it wont be the same as being a carefree student lor, sobs..), time to be a responsible adult.. boohoo~

The moral of the story is, live your student life to the fullest, it wont ever come back again if you dont fully utilise it.. Take heed~~ :P

PS:

Ede and Ravencroft, Robe Makers, somehow reminds me of Harry Potter.. hahaha~

LJMU Alumni Dinner 2010~

Attended LJMU's Annual Alumni Dinner on 26th February 2010... (LJMU=Liverpool John Moores University by the way).. It started raining heavily in the evening and i was seriously contemplating not to go.. In the end, i left for the bus stop at 6.45pm and after one bus and one lrt ride, i arrived a little after the stipulated time we were supposed to and realised that i was still actually quite early compared to many other ppl.. hee~

Crowne Plaza Mutiara Hotel's Nirvana ballroom~

The ceiling quite nice lah..

First 'entertainment' of the night-welcome speech by the uni's vice-chancellor~

then the thing everyone was waiting for.. it was still CNY at the time..

The biggest leap they made already.. not much action cos the space was so cramped

that supposedly reads : 年年有余~ (i personally cant tell O.o)

The next item on the agenda was dinner of course, and we were treated to a buffet dinner.. The food was quite ok, much better than Adelphi Hotel, Liverpool's food.. hahaha.. There was roast lamb, fresh salmon, spaghetti carbonara, prawns, etc.. and my favourite almond beancurd with longan.. very hard to find this dessert, the last time i had it was during someone's wedding dinner ages ago i think!

Half the Liverpool gang with our course leader Mr Colin Paul and some strangers we were sitting with, whom we pointedly ignored the whole night @.@~

and we cornered him again to take a pic with just us!! :)

Just the gals~

no Adelynne & Chiun Siew, hmph! ffk...

proud alumni of Liverpool John Moores~

Dunno whether i'll be attending the dinner next year tho.. its only fun if many ppl that you know go together.. and i think we were the only ones who turned up from our batch of coursemates.. Personally i think RM10 (that went to charity) is quite worth it.. It used to be foc.. but oh well..

Spent the rest of the night at Full House, Jalan Yap Kwan Seng, but no pics.. jus chatting and drinking my honey red date tea.. not a good place to hang out at night, almost everything on the menu was unavailable when we got there ard 10pm.. Have to thank Alex for sending me home that night..

Luckily 26th Feb was a public holiday.. If its on a workday next year, i think i wouldn't be attending.. hahaha..
