Femmecity Convention by Clove~

31 July 2010

Actually heard about this FemmeCity thingie ages ago, when i went to watch the sneak preview of Sex & The City 2 and once we realised that there would be free goodie bags for the first 500 visitors, we'd planned to go early, before the event actually began.. It actually started at 11am, so we (Lil, Viv, Vi & Me~) targeted to arrive at KLCC Convention Centre before that..

Problem was, our idea wasnt that original, and we arrived to find a queue that was quite long and complicated.. everyone was bunched up in front of the 'passport' redemption booth cos we had to get all 7 stamps on our passport to redeem the goodie bag.. we figured there must have been more passports than bags, so the moment we got in, our mission was to collect all 7 stamps as quickly as possible before going back to take a closer look at the exhibits~

Streets ahead for women~ my hurried first glance at the place~

The said 'streets' and a few of the booths where we had to collect stamps..

my completed passport :) I'd thought that they would get us to do some simple tasks to get your stamps, but you just had to go up to the counter and ask for them, that simple, cheh~ guess which is my favourite stamp? hint, its a two piece suit, lol~ cute!

victory~ well, not quite yet, cos hadnt gotten my hands on the goodie bag yet, hehe..

we raced past all the stalls erm, we did stop for some cornflakes and nescafe tarik samples on the way, and our kiasu-ness paid off, cos we got a goodie bag each :D then went off for lunch (and i bought some stuff :S) before we went back to look at the various booths more carefully, hehe... lucky us, when we got back to the convention centre ard 2pm, there was a fashion show abt to start and even luckier, we managed to grab ourselves some seats right in front! :)

emcee...

First up was the Poh Kong jewellery showcase..

models all dressed in black to show off the bling.. they all looked soooo tall~

the second outfit..

spot the tai-tais looking seriously at each piece while we were busy snapping pics of everything else but the jewellery.. hahahha...

in contrast to the tai-tais, many ah peks with huge cameras there as well..

next showcase.. Che Che New York (i never knew it was pronounced as 'Chee Chee', lol)

Bug-eye glasses, hahahha

imho, some of the bags werent very appealing.. @.@~

This got me all excited, if it becomes a new trend to carry paper bags out shopping, then no need to spend money buying actual bags right? right??

Closing pose.. peering closely at the models when they walked by us, i noticed that some of the models have skin that is in a worse condition than mine, poor things, some more have to clog their pores with makeup so often... :S

Went exploring the stuff available that day at the various booths.. sad to say, there wasnt that much to see, quite disappointing, i was expecting more stalls but it was only half a level of the convention centre and the flea market part was too tiny, didnt spot anything i really wanted.. :*

New brand sold at Watsons, the cup jelly look-alikes are actually face masks.. hehehe.. we got a sample each of the Majiami moisturiser, havent tried mine yet tho..

cute cutout at the Himalayas booth.. :)

Since there wasnt much to see, we decided to call it a day ard 4pm+~ saw this when we got out:-

muahahhahaha....

Feeling smug :) see naughty Vi's finger pointing at the sign? LoL~

Laid out all my stuff for inspection when i got back.. quite a lot of stuff in the bag :) the cornflakes itself was worth it already, other things included - Himalayas apricot scrub, eve feminine wash, bumper box of libresse sanitary pads, 2 tiny tupperware containers and a few not that useful vouchers, haha.. I love the pink bag a lot!!

My haul from Laneige..
I actually only bought 2 items, but the amount of samples given are quite satisfying :):)

A satisfying end to an interesting day~ :D Pity we didnt go for any of the talks, some sounded quite interesting.. and i'd hoped we could go to the Joey Yap booth to get our fortunes told.. too bad we were too stingy to pay so much.. better luck next time~
