x'mas in Melaka, kota bersejarah.. :)

Spent x'mas weekend in Malacca this year... I was in a dilemma whether to go or not, cos third aunt was in a critical stage at the time, and i was pondering whether to cancel everything and rush back to see her.. In the end, decided that i wouldn't be able to do anything for her, so stuck to the original plan made weeks earlier, that was to spend the weekend with some of the gang~

Took the 2pm bus down together with Esmei and met lady boss and lee min at Melaka Sentral~ After setting down our bags, we were off to Dataran Pahlawan to meet Lai Kuan~ There're many nice things to be bought for such a small place.. too bad i dont have a shopping budget this month >.<

Had afternoon tea at "Pink Berry"~

Cant remember what its called, but its ice+mango cubes+mango sauce+glutinous rice balls+ice-cream :P:P yummy~

After some more jalan-jalan, it was time for more makan-makan... By popular demand, we had satay celup, which was a horrible idea.. cos we'd all forgotten that we were going to have bbq the next day... >.<

The next day, very few pics.. Spent the morning lazing in and the afternoon at the cinema :) We watched Avatar in 3D.. yea yea the gaphics were nice, the storyline was ok, but I wouldn't go so far as to say that it was an amazing movie.. Mostly cos its damn tiring to watch a 3D movie, what more a 3 hour one! Out of the 4 of us, i was the only one who finished the whole movie.. One felt dizzy, one felt nauseous and one had a migraine.. Me? I spent 3 quarters of my Sunday sleeping to recuperate, and the tiredness continued up till tuesday as well >.<

The eve of x'mas eve

Another day, another function.. It seems like we're always having some thing or other to celebrate in the office :D On x'mas eve, we gathered in the Boardroom to have a little farewell ceremony for our previous head of department who retired just this month..

Just a tiny fraction of my department... 1/4 i think...

we started off by singing messing up Westlife's You Raise Me Up, then there were the usual sppeches, tears and presentation of a momento, not forgetting cake (from La Manila-our boss's wife's shop.. again) :)

Its a specially bound scrapbook with pages decorated by each group.. every group was given 5 pages to personalise (the reason that i stayed back till 7pm++ everyday for almost a week for cutting and pasting sessions)

Eventhough i've only known her such a long time, I still would like to wish her all the best.. I think she must have been a very good boss cos there were many ppl who burst into tears when she made her goodbye speech...

Had actually ordered pizza, but they failed to inform us when they couldnt deliver our order.. thus one big complaint letter will be going their way pretty soon... Lunch was when i received some bad news abt my aunt who is now in heaven.. RIP Aunt Alice~ but still half the day left...

More backlog~ A few days after turning 22, I had a great night out with Michelle and Lilian :) At Kota Damansara of all places.. haha.. Gotta admit that there's plenty of restaurants there to choose from tho.. We went to Bangkok Wasabe for some spicy goodness.. hehe..

Quite a lot of food for 3 ppl, but i think we digested everything by chatting.. We were the last to leave the restaurant.. and we only left cos they were closing~ after that continued to Station 1 for more story swapping... hahahha... we sure can talk!

So funny, i was wearing formal top and skirt, Lilian just changed her work top but still wore her formal skirt and Michelle was the luckiest, change to casual clothes, since she stayed the nearest.. @.@~

Birthday Celebrations Part 2~

After going home from Mid Valley and getting ready for bed, i got a call from who else but Lilian asking me to get ready to go out.. I was practically half asleep already at 10pm plus, so i protested a bit, but after she used her wonderful power of persuasion on me, i jumped up and got from pyjamas and sleepy to party ready in record time.. heehee...

Destination: Mutiara Damansara~

Trying to be hip, we went to look ard the bars in the area.. Library, Sanctuary.. and finally ended up doing-

hahahhha... I prefer to call it Dobi...

Some cocktail we ordered... Service was horrible, cos i think the waiters are permanently deaf and blind or something.. One drink tat we ordered was not available tat night and instead of informing us, the stupid waiter let us wait in vain until we had to ask why it hadnt arrived >.<

The most amazing cake ever.. dunno how long it took to painstakingly create each layer.. I say cake but Lilian calls it jelly cos i repeatedly told her not to get a cake, and this is her form of a loophole.. O.o...
