The eve of x'mas eve

Another day, another function.. It seems like we're always having some thing or other to celebrate in the office :D On x'mas eve, we gathered in the Boardroom to have a little farewell ceremony for our previous head of department who retired just this month..

Just a tiny fraction of my department... 1/4 i think...

we started off by singing messing up Westlife's You Raise Me Up, then there were the usual sppeches, tears and presentation of a momento, not forgetting cake (from La Manila-our boss's wife's shop.. again) :)

Its a specially bound scrapbook with pages decorated by each group.. every group was given 5 pages to personalise (the reason that i stayed back till 7pm++ everyday for almost a week for cutting and pasting sessions)

Eventhough i've only known her such a long time, I still would like to wish her all the best.. I think she must have been a very good boss cos there were many ppl who burst into tears when she made her goodbye speech...

spent the most time on the ridiculously complicated family tree... First one was rejected cos the paper wasnt thick enough, so we had to throw away one day's work... :(

After that, we had lunch in one of the smaller boardrooms, kfc courtesy of my director.. Had actually ordered pizza, but they failed to inform us when they couldnt deliver our order.. thus one big complaint letter will be going their way pretty soon... Lunch was when i received some bad news abt my aunt who is now in heaven.. RIP Aunt Alice~ but still half the day left...

Exchanging x'mas presents!
Dont be envious, we all had to fork out $$ to but a gift for every other group member which equals 7 presents each..

The ones I bought were all tiny but meaningful packages, hehe...

Asam Laksa and Sirap Selasih for dinner.. yums~ and after that went to Puduraya to get Malacca bus tickets for x'mas day... :) What a busy day...
