Europe Trip Day 1: Liverpool-Dover-Calais-Brussels

Finally feel in the mood to update a little abt my 14 Days and 13 Nights of rushing around parts of Europe.. Hope I haven't kept you all waiting for too long.. :)

Spent my last day in Liverpool packing up all my possessions, which were not that much to be honest...

Left Atlantic Point at about 4am.. supposed to be 3am, but the stupid bus came late.. grr.. and we were left waiting in the cold... >.<

By the time we reached Dover to catch the ferry to France it was morning and super hot..

Our tour leader said that they usually don't check passports when you enter France from UK, but we had our passports checked that day.. so i have an extra stamp on my passport, yippee~~ After arriving on land again, we continued on our way to Brussels, Belgium.. :)

Something interesting.. at the back of every number plate, there's a blue square with a circle of stars signifying the European union, and the alphabet inside shows the country the car is from, ie B=Belgium, I=Italy, RF=Republic of France, etc..

Some places of interest~
Since we only had a tour leader and not a tour guide, nobody really explained the significance of the places we visited, so i'm going to have to do a lot of research to match the buildings to their names, haha...

The following buildings are all located at a place called Grand Place, i'm not lying.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Place.. Its the main square in Brussels where all the administrative buildings and stuff are..

There was a beer carnival in the centre of Grand Place while we were there :)

This is The Bourse or stock exchange building, which was near the place where we had dinner..

We also visited something much talked about that seemed quite famous and we couldn't wait to see it-- 撒尿小童.. imagine the disappointment when we saw the real thing.. cos it was so tiny compared to what we pictured.. haha..

Its so tiny.. blink and you'll miss it~

Got to taste a little of Belgium too, in the form of Belgium chocolate and Belgian waffles.. After rushing round looking at everything worth seeing, we had our first real sit down chinese dinner in months.. That first day, everyone was so excited to see the food.. but after 2 weeks of almost the same stuff, I am damn glad to be home with mum's cooking again.. hahaha...
