Day 66: Dim sum + BBQ + meteor rain

Ooohh.. seems like i spent the whole day eating, haha... :)

Last class for strategic purchasing, and guess what.. I 'ponteng kelas'-ed.. One of the many crazy things i did that day~ After printing and handing in our assignment, went to have lunch with the gang~

Heard abt this famous 'porcupine' thing for so long already and i finally got to eat it! :) Luckily we skipped the buffet downstairs if not i wouldn't have had the chance to try it..

Dimsum at Harbour City Restaurant near Chinatown

Char siew bao.. ooohhh i've missed this..

The famous 'porcupine' dish.. Super delicious, they're actually paus with custard or something.. the spikes are actually crunchy! :D

Yummy! only 3 pounds+ per person~ 12 dishes~

8 happy people~

haha, 'chopstick tutorial'

Then, on the way into town, i found something else to add to my collection :)

Peacock superlambanana!

Cute..

And then, somebody suddenly had a brainwave, to organise a bbq party that night, so we set off to shop for food at Tesco Superstore (there's oso Tesco Metro and Tesco Express here.. Tesco overload..) After shopping, we went somewhere that almost everyone has been to and tried out except me >.< Lobster Pot which sells giant fish and chips.. We wanted to try something different so we ordered the kebab meal..

5 people could not finish these 2 giant things.. Why do peas have to look so repulsive?? >.<

2 people less, cos they went to pick up the chicken wings from St John Market.. maybe 7 people could have finished the food..

At night~

BBQ stuff.. we had sandwiches and savoury eggs (those are not exactly meatballs.. ) as well as bacon, sausages, chicken wings, tomyam chicken, chicken roll and crabsticks.. :D

We bought some of those magic instant bbq sets available for one pound each, and it took a whole bunch of people to get it started cos nobody had ever seen or used them before in Malaysia.. haha.. After some experimenting and figuring out how to work the thing, we finally got the fire (or fires since we had 5 sets) started..

How many Malaysians does it take to light an instant bbq set in UK?? answer: at least 5.. haha...

blue flames means extra hot :)

with flash~

and the chicken wings take the stage first~

30 chicken wings, and we managed to finish them all ^^.. Really exciting to have a bbq when a super chilly wind is blowing around you.. That night, there was supposed to be a meteor shower and when planes passed by we kept joking that our meteors flew upwards instead of down.. haha..

Spot the fake meteor.. >.<

Group pic time~

really quite chilly that night..

but us girls in t-shirts beat the guys huddling in the corner -with jackets- anytime :)

Considered the third crazy thing we did that day, climbed up a hill where you can get a great view of Liverpool to try and catch the meteor shower.. at 2am @.@~

quiet street~

the moon is brighter abroad??

Its a lot nicer if you see it in person..

We thought many people would be around to catch the meteor shower, but turns out we're quite high on the spontaneous meter.. haha.. The good news is that we did see a small part of the shower which lasted about half an hour.. The bad part was that we spent the first few minutes arguing whether the moving bright spots above were planes or stars until we missed some of the good ones.. >.< did see a few shooting stars tho~ and i hope with all my heart the wish i made will come through, its the same one i made at the wishing well at Falls of Shin.. :)
