London!!!!! I have been to London (Part 2)

Continuing from where I stopped.. This time we decided to stick to the map (I got all my info off this website) and since the walk started from the Westminster tube station, thats where we went..

Walk 1: Westminster & Houses of Parliament

The black spiky area leads to the tube station..
Can you spot Big Ben at the back?! :)

part of the Palace of Westminster..

another part.. breathtaking architecture~

While we were there, there was a protest against armed crime going on,
It was a very peaceful protest, just a whole giant bunch of people singing and walking past..

Then we passed Parliament Square where there are usually people camping there, protesting one thing or another, that day it was protest against Iraq war day.. Click to see clearly.. Also passed St Margaret's Church.. Thats the building with the blue circles..

the Jewel Tower that is a remaining part of the original palace that burnt down in 1834~

This area is a favourite place for reporters to conduct interviews with politicians..

Came to this place called Dean's Yard after passing through a really quiet residential area favoured by politicians~

and then we come to Westminster Abbey, with its impressive architecture..

View from the side..
Its also impressive for another reason, many members of royalty are buried there, as well as some famous people like Dickens, Shakespere, Kipling, TS Eliot, etc...

I have been to Westminster Abbey!
(even if we didnt go inside @.@~)

Walk 2: Whitehall & Buckingham Palace

Walking down King Charles Street, the buildings on both sides are parliament offices..

Very famous address in London- The Prime Minister's accommodation at no 10 Downing Street~

Visitors used to be able to walk right up to No 10, but the whole street is blocked and guarded now for security reasons..

This is called the cenotaph

All sorts of British souvenirs :)

Then we finally found the place that we were searching high and low for! :) Turns out it was very very near where we were before, just that we didnt go near enough to see it..

Horseguards!!!

Just in time to see the ending part once again >.<
Chia Ley and me :)

Quite a boring job.. :S

Walk 3: London Eye & Trafalgar Square

Admiralty arch leading to Trafalgar's Square

We were very excited to see this!! but it was closed..
What kind of tourism office closes on weekends?!

After buying some drinks, we went to rest awhile on the steps leading to the National Gallery, and we saw this:

This guy was standing high above the square (dunno how he got there), and he was throwing tubes of Smarties to the crowd :)

This literally dropped at our feet.. Free Smarties! Yay! :)

The bunches of people trying to catch Smarties~

Crowded Trafalgar's Square

The National Gallery~

Another free thing, this time it was hugs.. anything free and we will grab :) The guy in the blue shirt gives great hugs! :D

National Portrait Gallery

Next stop: Golden Jubilee Bridge

Another Penang Bridge lookalike~

London Bridge, looks so ordinary, the pretty one that everyone mistakes as London Bridge is actually Tower Bridge, i also didnt expect the real London Bridge to look so plain

Nice view of The Thames from the bridge..

They gave a great performance :)

In the middle..

Royal Festival Hall

Trees with red trunks @.@~

Saw some interesting street art on the way to see the London Eye.. What happens if it rains??

Obviously the London Eye~~ :)

Close up of the pods..

Super duper long queue, it takes 45 mins to go round once..

Sat on the grass and enjoyed an ice-cream at Jubilee Park~

Theres a Salvador Dali museum by the river, i like this sculpture very much, melting clock~

The next place we went to was the Tower of London and Tower Bridge, due to some poorly done research, I actually thought Tower Bridge was near to the London Eye, turned out that we had to change 2 tube stations to get there.. This delay caused us to miss Oxford Street, boohoo~

Self-explanatory pic.. :)

This is the actual Tower of London~

Interesting stuff..

Traitor's gate, which is accessible only by water..

Interesting building~

Fresh Oysters~!

and finally, Tower Bridge.. super awesome!

This is the dead man's hole they mean..

Glad that I got to walk across the beautiful Tower Bridge~

Since were taking the 6.07pm train back to Liverpool, we decided to leave at 5.15pm so that we would have ample time to arrive at Euston, but the Tube isn't as reliable as we think~ ended up running like mad when we reached the train station, and only got on the train 2 minutes before it was due to leave.. damn kan cheong.. haha.. train super punctual as usual..

Dinner on the train- 3.45 pounds a set :)

Monster crunch- nice to see, not that nice to eat :S

souvenirs~~ I like the buses the most, cos they have wheels that move, haha.. there were also post boxes and police hats, but i only bought buses and telephone booths :)

Conclusion: I love London!!!! Hope to visit again soon~
very abrupt post, but i'm very sleepy.. :*
