Movietime~

Went for a movie today, with my parents, of all people.. They'll be the last parents on earth to criticise their kids for wasting money at the cinema now that they're addicted to the movie-going experience themselves, hehe.. :D but they still need to be trained a little on cinema etiquette (cue commenting on scenes loudly and forgetting to switch phone to silent..) >.<>

Anyways, today we watched Red Cliff Part 2, and its incredible how i am so poorly learned in the area of chinese history.. Here's a great big apology to my forefathers: SORRY! I actually thought that romance of the three kingdoms was an entirely fictional story.. and apart from the names of a few characters, i mean like who doesnt know who is 曹操 and 诸葛亮, i basically know nothing else about the story.. I actually skipped Red Cliff 1 as i thought it would be some slow moving draggy historical/ artistic film that would bore me to death.. but i had to watch the clip before going to the cinema otherwise i would have been lost..

Luckily i watched this movie in the end tho, cos it was quite well done..The story turned out to be more interesting than i thought.. and there's also a part that's kind of like Lust. Caution in Part 1, hahaha... I especially like Takeshi Kaneshiro in the role of the smart and brilliant master planner-诸葛亮 cos he could still be charming and funny eventho they were supposed to be at war... People who have had some education in Chinese will also see some familiar things such as the kong ming lantern and you will also see proof that football was invented in China... in fact, all the actors played their parts quite well, including model 林志玲 who was quite convincing in her role.. My only complaint is that HD (high definition) shows every flaw and blemish too clearly, until you get a little uncomfortable looking at Vicky Zhao's wrinkles or Tony Leung's pimples.. sigh.. but you cant get your cake and eat it too can you...

All in all, i quite liked this movie, so, go watch if you feel free during the chinese new year period lah~
