Day 3: Talking about my accommodation

For the people who are worrying that I'm not eating properly, this is what I had for dinner on day 3.. I'm sharing with 4 friends and I'm lucky in the sense that we have a really expert chef.. :)
Will try to document our dinners as best as possible to assure you that we are eating good home-cooked food, haha...

The reason that nights dinner was so satisfying was cos we had all lugged groceries until our arms were breaking.. Imagine going into 3 or 4 shops to get the best prices for various things (Tesco, chinatown supermarket, Home Bargain, etc) and then walking more than half an hour to get back!

Bacon with preserved vege (zha choi)

tomatoes and egg

Strawberries and blueberries for dessert..

The tomatoes here are super sweet and cheap! and bacon tastes nice with almost everything, haha..

******************************************************************************

Going to show you what my room is like now.. Havent taken photos of the fully furnished room yet, these were taken before I started unpacking, just to let you know roughly how big my room is.. Its the first time ever I have a room to myself I think, and its great! The last time I had a room to myself was during kindergarten I think, and I couldn't sleep the first night cos of a Ronald McDonald poster that scared me so much, I ended up not sleeping alone after that.. haha..

I have a nice window with curtains that lets the cool air in while its open, its exactly like an air-conditioner, I think its more efficient than the one we have at home... :) and below that is the heater.. The heater that has been my enemy so far, its either too hot or not working, and I've kind of given up on it and rather not use it at all.. oh and a nice roomy cupboard that is even larger than my old hostel one, hahahahha... I wish I had a wardrobe like that at home.. It even fits my giant suitcase, which I have stowed away inside..

and the bed.. I was lucky enough to get a new set of duvet cover, pillowcase, pillow, duvet and bedsheet.. Some people got old ones when they arrived.. I havent sent it for dry-cleaning yet, cos apparently you won't get back the same one after it is washed, and I kind of like the pattern on my bedsheet.. Sigh...

Bedside table with another drawer.. What I love is that there are many drawers and nooks and crannies for me to store my things.. I like that very much cos I like my things to be sorted clearly.. One day, when my room is tidy enough, I may (or may not) document what the whole room looks like now to show you.. :)

The spacious desk, with another 3 drawers.. i have my very own telephone.. (Do ask if you want my contact number in the UK..) and thats the infamous chair that melted the same night that i first sat on it! Dont worry, I've got a new, sturdier one now..

This is whats on the wall above the desk.. Theres a nice big notice board, which I haven't bothered to decorate this time, unlike during my college hostel days.. and another 2 huge shelves for me to put stuff on.. One of which is so high that i have to climb the chair to reach it.. hahahaha.. Havent really put anything up there yet.. Lazy to climb up and down when I can keep everything within reach.. :)

Shots taken in the toilet.. Its very basic with a sitting toilet, a sink and a shower area with a door.. Its larger than the standard First World Hotel one, but i hate the shower area, which is a little too small for my liking.. I keep banging into stuff while I'm showering.. and the sink is pretty weird too.. the hot and cold taps are at opposite ends, so you cn either choose very hot or very cold water... >.<

The kitchen area. This is my friends' apartment, cos the one in my apartment has been taken over by slobs, and I cant bear to enter it if its not necessary for me to.. Pretty well equipped I should think.. There are four hotplate hobs, 2 ovens, a microwave, a fridge, 2 sinks, a bar counter, dining area, sofa and a tv at the corner which cant be seen in the picture.. I pop over to this clean kitchen every day to have my meals with my friends..

View from my room:

Daytime..

Around the corner..

Night view..

and thats abt all, shall continue with days 4,5 and 6 (which is tomorrow) tomorrow.. So stay tuned to this space!:) Going to bed now.. Its 12.38am and i have a class at 10am tomorrow.. tata..
